Good Concept, Poor story
A mixture of The Doom Patrol and X-Force, with characters such as Niles Cable ( Professor Niles , Cable ) and Shatterstarfire ( Shatterstar , Star Fire ). In this issue the X-patrol battles the evil Brother Brood ( Brother Blood , The Brood ). This book suffers from the ailment that at least half of the Amalgam books have suffered from. The creators were so caught up in the gimmik, that they forgot to include any characters, or a story to care about. Too bad, because this was a cool reimagining. I liked the combination of Brother Blood and the Brood. I think a religion surrounding an alien species bent on our destruction would be an interesting story subject. Too bad it took a back seat. You can not care too much for the story, if you do not care about the people it surrounds.
