    The Good

    "Outbreak" say whaaaat?

What a great second part! The first issue gave us the grounds of the circumstances that Aric is living in and also what we can expect from the "Armor Hunters" story arc. In this issue, we get to see Aric battle the monster that was so desperately trying to steal his armor and how the future has untold mysteries for him!

Writer Robert Venditti did an outstanding job with this second part! He built on the grounds of the first issue and gave a very thought provoking ending that makes me question if the "Armor Hunters" are really the good guys in this one circumstance. The ending sees a bunch of "Armor Hunters" taking the X-O armor from a dead user and placing it in a bag with a bunch of other ones, the apparent leader says "...locate the next outbreak", leading me to think that there is more than meets the eye with the hunters! When a writer can make you think like that, know that they are doing their job correctly!

Robert Venditti also scripted an excellent fight sequence between Aric and the Monster. It was really cool to see the two duke it out and how desperate the Monster was to take that armor, and also showing how X-O Manowar (Aric) is determined to keep it no matter what. This will obviously collide with what the Armor Hunters want to accomplish with this so called "outbreak", but it'll be interesting to see what happens next.

Two of the best parts in the entire issue!
Two of the best parts in the entire issue!

There were smaller parts in this issue, like Aric realizing faucet water and the two guards talking about the point of bringing guns to check in Aric when he's superpowerful, they were brief moments that made this issue even better. Well done Venditti for putting this in the issue without making it seem out of place!

The artwork was done perfectly thanks to the art team! They made the world look really nice and the overall design really fits the "out-of-this-world" nature of this comic. Good job team!

    The Bad

    No complaints.

    The Verdict

X-O Manowar is a fantastic series! So far I've loved the two issues that I've read and it's been an enjoyable experience since then. It has action, a compelling love story, and a hero that's willing to do anything for his people. It's got the making of something great, if you ask me! The creative team behind this book is reaching for the stars and have come back with a book that makes a 90s Sci-Fi hero cool again. 5 out of 5!
