The Uncanny X-Men are a superhero team of mutants that were founded by fellow mutant Professor Charles Xavier. They are dedicated to helping fellow mutants and sworn to protect a world that fears and hates them.
@Rickbarry: I really wished they had done more with this group, it just seemed to have so much potential. too bad Storm, Namor and Colossus don't really make sense there any more.

And let it be known now, if this were to ever receive publications, i'd be getting five issues per release.
Uncanny (AKA, team that does work to protect mutant kind) Leader; Cyclops. Members Jean Gray, Emma Frost, Colossus, Magneto, Boom Boom, Domino, Sunspot, Angel, Gambit, Psylocke, Bishop, Cipher
Astonishing (AKA, team that is super hero team to try and get good publicity) Leader: Beast. Members Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Storm, Iceman, Jubilee, Rogue, Kitty, Canonbolt, Husk, Magma, Karma, Northstar
Young (AKA, school team intended to go after guys like Stilt Man or Shocker but somehow end up fighting Juggernaught and his tier often) Leader: X-23. Members Dust, Surge, Pixie, Armor, Anole, Quire, Rockslide, Match, Gentle, Genesis, Oya, Broo, Kid Gladiator
Hmm. I guess I'm not feeling very creative. This is pretty much the roster I grew up with minus a few names (e.g., Gambit, Longshot, Forge). I'm not sure if I'd call it a dream team but they're some of the biggest x-names in my opinion. With the exception of Colossus (and maybe Kitty) they've all led teams. No recent characters—X-23, Danger, Darwin, Kid Omega, Fantomex—not even good ol' Emma Frost. I think a dream team for me would have to span more generations as well as something that includes more villainous types, but the further out from the core characters the less it feels like a definitively "X-Men" team.
Sort of like the Cyclops leads his own "brotherhood of mutants" thing they're doing now but substituting Mystique for Magneto and the vampiric Jubilee for the demonic Magik.

My dream team would be a mix beetwen Whedon's team and the E-Team: Scott, Emma, Kitty, Piotr, Illyana, Erik, Hank and maybe Danger... I'd love to see this in the upcoming Uncanny XMen title
X-force; Black and White, writing by Greg Rucka, art by Gabriele Dell'otto
It's a small team, but i would love to read a crazy Sci-Fi Shoot'em up book by Greg Rucka. FantomexDominoE.V.A.
I dig this team, but I think I'd like to see it with Martha Johansson added as a member. She's a strange character that hasn't seen a lot of development and besides who doesn't love a disembodied telepathic brain as a character. She doesn't fit the run and gun feel, but I don't think that's a bad thing.
@DarkDay: Yeah, I can get behind that. You need supporting characters. Some No-Girl, a splash of Doctor Nemesis, a small cameo of X-23. Bring back Omega Red, Black, and White. They got to fight somebody, And there's an evil Fantomex out there somewhere!

I'd buy that in a second! Also Doc Nemesis sells it for me. And I'd bring back Kimura if X is going to cameo and if that works I think she could become more of a threat in the X-universe. I mean we have a girl that is so impervious that adamantium claws mean nothing to her.
Moonstar, Karma, Prodigy, Cannonball, Monet, Chamber and maybe two or three younger characters that would bring some more non-corny edge to the group. I'm ready for a new, younger team.

I like this group a lot!
would you like to see them based out of the school, or sepperate from it?

Separate. I no longer see a point in the X-Men being based out of a school when their activities attract so much threatening attention. A separate school & training facility should be opened that actually does focus on teaching young mutants how to control their powers and use it for the betterment of humanity, versus to beat up on threats.
@PhoenixoftheTides: mm, good point. I just always feel like the X-men lose something without the school angle.. like, if they aren't training new mutants, they aren't properly the X-men.. between the Mutant Massacre and Grant Morrison's run, how different were they from, say, the New Warriors? Plus most of this crew would make for awesome teachers..
