Which X-Men characters do you wish were portrayed better in the movies?

Personally, I say any X-Men character who isn't Wolverine, Magneto and Professor Xavier needed better development. Most of the time, they were just standing in the background, with only a few highlight scenes like Nightcrawler's opening scene in X2. I would like to see more developments from these characters:

Psylocke

Colossus

Shadowcat

Gambit

Angel

Nightcrawler

I wish Storm was portrayed better and played by another actress. I don't even remember Psylocke so yeah she should be portrayed better. Gambit needed a better portrayal. Rogue was horrible and definitely should have been portrayed better and played by a better actress. Cyclops was also not done well and neither was Emma Frost. Jean Grey was pretty good though when she became the Phoenix it felt like I was watching Carrie.

The X-Villains were treated fairly well. The actual X-Men on the other hand, not so much.

Scott Summers, that is all.

I liked James Marsden, but the movies were always about Huge Action. So he took a backseat.

I have a love/hate relationship with Storm. I'd of liked to see her have a more prominent role as well.

I agree that Cyclops was treated poorly throughout this franchise, especially getting killed off in the third movie!

The film makers have two hours to fit 50 years of complex stories, themes and characters and market them to an international audience of people that are all different ages, and have different interests other than comics. Does anyone really think every character is going to be portrayed greatly?? Nope.

Rogue. Going from "spunky southern belle" to "emo teenager without flight or strength" was bad enough, but then they made her into the first example of "movies influencing comics."

Grant Morrison lost a lot of credibility with me when I learned he prefers the movie version.

I'll add to this -

Its not the studio's job to make a 100% accurate adapation of your character. Its to make a SUCCESSFUL (money wise) movie.

If they make a movie that makes 1 billion dollars but pisses off every fan of -insert character here- they would do it.

All that being said - the only Xmen characters I enjoy were Wolverine, Jean, Prof X, Magneto, Mystique and Nightcrawler.

Patrick Stewart as Professor X and Ian McKellen as Magneto was pretty epic. Storm needs to be played by a more down to earth actress. Nightcrawler and Deadpool definitely need more original interpretations.

@wolverine08: Its true that they cant accurately portray everybody but the actors and actresses should at least be able to act the parts well. January Jones did not and Anna Paquin as Rogue?!!! Come on. I can think of several actresses that probably would be cheaper to sign and look and act the parts better. Im glad they made the movies but some choices were kinda crazy
