X-Men# 94-143 Greatest comic run ever?

Lots of younger collectors on this site, but it shouldn't matter here, EVERYONE should have read this run by now. Although there ARE many classic comic arcs, and storylines to debate and choose from, its real hard for me to find any better than this one.

The Claremont/Byrne X-Men run was just stellar, and paved the way for a myriad of 'like kind' charcaters and stories in its aftermath. I personally rank this collection as the greatest ever...thoughts???

Nah, I mean its classic yeah, but I loved the Jim Lee run in the 90's. Thats when the X-Men blew up in my opinion.

WOW!!!!!

you may be the only person i've ever come across that thinks the Jim Lee run in the 90's is BETTER than the #94-#143 X-Run?????

shocking, and i'd bet good dollars, a minority opinion...

but hey, whatever gets ya horny :)

On a side note, how about how MASSIVELY diffferent JL pencils were then and now...huh? MAJOR improvement for JL in his skill level at this point...

the JL of today drawing that same X-Book would have visually rocked, something wicked!

It's a classic run, undoubtedly. One of the greastest? Not today. It was crucial in providing the basis of the modern X-Men but to read it now, it just seems dated IMO.
My favorite run is Morrison's New X-Men which is still miles ahead of what is being released today even if it's effects have been quelled by numerous retcons.

@Mr. Ubiquitous: I agree those were classic issues. I may be one of the few that think Morrison's New Xmen run and Whedon's Astonishing Xmen were overrated.

I think it really set the tone of what the X-Men should be. But there are plenty of starting points a newbie could start reading from within the last 10 years because they have become more accessible. But Claremont's run will always be classic.

I agree that the Claremont/Byrne run on X-Men was beyond awesome since I still remember those stories to this very day, but I also really enjoyed Joss Whedon's run on Astonishing X-Men.
