I read somewhere that Fox has started developing the squeals and is to be directed by Bryan Singer... Is there any truth to this (I have the link if needed)
X-Men
Team » X-Men appears in 13416 issues.
The X-Men are a superhero team of mutants founded by Professor Charles Xavier. They are dedicated to helping fellow mutants and sworn to protect a world that fears and hates them.
X-Men 4 and 5?
First Class is a Prequel, which will have 2 of it's own sequels....I feel like there's going to have to be some sort of time travel involved in the next one to tweak the previous trilogy to make it all make sense, because there is a lot of inconsistency
They should continue on with the prequel. Two X-Men franchises running simultaneously is never a good idea.

I'm probably the only x-fan in the world who hated First Class!
And I hope the don't do anything involving time travel, it woul get more comfusing.
not the only one....
Last Stand ruined any chance of a sequel.
Besides, why would Fox follow on with that crap when they have a First Class sequel to work on.

I wonder how they're gonna explain Xavier walking in X-Men Origins Wolverine when he was crippled during the Cuban Missile crisis. I know that happened before X-Men Origins Wolverine since the crisis was before American soldiers entered Vietnam.
Short answer: they shouldn't try and tie the film trilogies together. It'd compromise the quality of the First Class sequels.
Lauren Shuler Donner mentioned that it's in development - http://screenrant.com/x-men-4-5-development-rob-108012/
But that was a year ago and right now they're more interested in prequels...
No more mutants. After the prequels are done telling their story, I would really like FOX to allow Marvel to have the rights back (although it surely won't happen). A Marvel Studios reboot would give me the biggest nerdgasm ever recorded in human history. The only conditions are that Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender (with white hair dye), and Hugh Jackman must reprise their roles.

Exactly. Brett Ratner wrote the films in such a convoluted train wreck that Fox would be hard-pressed to try and salvage a continuity.

“The time is almost upon us. My centuries of manipulating... of preparing... are reaching their resolution. With the dawning of the new day, the end times will be upon us... my ascension complete. And you, the twelve -- prophesied saviors of mutantkind... your power will bestow upon me the means to achieve my destiny. First, I will remake this pathetic orb in my image, and then the stars!”
