Since the upcoming "Inhuman" book and "Inhumanity" event written by Fraction and drawn by Joe Mad is basically a thinly veiled attempt at writing X-Men style stories with characters Marvel still has the movie writes to will you check out the book because it will be using the same ideas and concepts of classic X-Men or will you just ignore it?
X-Men
Team » X-Men appears in 13417 issues.
The X-Men are a superhero team of mutants founded by Professor Charles Xavier. They are dedicated to helping fellow mutants and sworn to protect a world that fears and hates them.
X-Fans Will You Read "Inhumans"?
@longbowhunter: Fraction can be hit or miss IMO
Yeah I gotta chack this out, though I guess that means I need to get into the Avengers series and maybe read some old inhumans stuff which I wouldn't know where to start at
You could try Inhumans vol 2, it won an award(i can't remember the name).
@jonny_anonymous: Truth. He's on a role lately, but Fear Itself wasn't so long ago that I've forgotten.

Yeah, thanks!
I never was a fan of Xmen, primarily 'cause I never cared to read anything about them.
But this sounds kinda cool to me. New characters? Hell yeah, I'm always a fan of new characters. Its gets boring reading the same characters year after year. So this Inhumans book could be really fresh to me. At least I hope. I know other Marvel characters will appear but still.
I'll check it out.
Fraction is a nono and the premise behind this is a complete slap on the face and desecration for the mutant metaphor.
Jo Mad is great so that's a +
Preferred him in the 90s.

Inhumans Vol. 2 (1998) by Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee was fantastic! On the whole, Marvel Knights had some really, really good stuff. Madrox (2005) and Marvel Boy (2000) were my favourites from the imprint.
Hope this doesn't detract too much from the X-franchise's standing in the MU.
Lifelong Marvel fan that's currently reading one Marvel title. Not sure if this is the book to bring me back into the fold.

I loved Marvel Boy
Fraction is at his absolute best when he's redefining (or plain old defining) things. Inhumans seems like an interesting concept, so I'm definitely on board with this.
He can also be really good when it comes to the sci-fi sort of genre and I think Inhumans kind of fits that bill. So I'm probably on board as well. I just hope he doesn't treat this like his X-Men.
I want to know how Fraction plans to introduce inhuman/human hybrids, the Inhumans are pretty much a closed society.

But he's also at his absolute worst writing a team.
@john_valentine: Don't disagree, but I've heard really good things about FF. he seems to have gotten a good handle on it if that's anything to go off of.

Ah, that's true. I only took his X-Men into account, but FF has only four characters.
@mynamewasdeleted: Those are the Inhumans royal family. They are the ones that almost always appear.
I think the idea here is that some human/inhuman descendants will get exposed to the Terrigen Mist and their powers will activate.

This is the only reservation I have about the book. In wrestling terms - they've given the Inhuman society/race the mutants' gimmick. Unless something happens during Battle of the Atom (and to an extent Ragnarok Now) that causes a huge status change in the mutant universe, I don't see how this is going to work. However, I'll wait and see.
And with all that being said - Joe Mad is drawing it, so I'm in. How long he stays on the book is another huge question. I was so hype for Avenging Spider-Man until I realized he was only doing the first arc.

I think the cynicism is unfounded. They're promoting the properties that don't get as much attention. God forbid there's a profit motive attached to art.
There's a reason certain properties don't get much attention - they don't make much money. Marvel is a business - they don't do anything without a profit motive attached to it.
Now do I care that there's a possibility they're only pushing the Inhumans to bring the franchise to movie theaters? Not one bit - however, that doesn't mean I'm going t ignore that it's a huge possibility.
Joe Mad drawing this book isn't a coincidence. They're going all out for this book to make some noise and push the Inhumans as a flagship title for the company. If Mad stays on for more than one arc, you might as well plan to see a movie announcement in the next year or two.
Fraction is the best thing happening to Marvel right now. Everyone has heard of Hawkeye, but many don't realize his Fantastic Four and FF runs have been very good as well.
Joe Mad needs no introduction.
Also, the fact that this is being presented as a standalone title that's not supposed to get mucked up in current mess of continuity makes this a must-buy on my list.
@jonny_anonymous: I love the Inhumans... but out of lack of funds for a new series, and not wanting to support a book that mirror's the X-Men's concepts and designs... I won't be picking this up!

Well the book is being launched out of the whole Inhumanity event that's happening after Infinity so it will be all mixed up in that.
@soa: I'm sure they'll make an appearance but from whats been released so far it'll mostly be new random pepole getting Inhuman powers
Im looking forward t it, but only from faith this will see a new threat to the Earth, I am sure it will be similar to xmen but with a gas causing the change rather than genetic mutations with genes that lay dormant till pubity and high stress levels...but i also agree that this may be a way to add muta... inhumans, to the movies.
I do wonder if Fox would sue though, especially if there are similar charecters in the inhumans to any of the xmen...
