Vulcan was a horrific waste of character, mutant power, and overall potential. His character could have been so much more - good guy or bad. He's the reason I was scarred, and stopped reading X-Men shortly after War of Kings. His was a whiny little emo kid in a grown man's body (instant fail), he was a dumb@ss, his "insanity" was poorly done (he just came off as being outstandingly stupid), his history could have been worse, but Vulcan's terrible execution made the very creation of him a mistake.
X-Men
Team » X-Men appears in 13419 issues.
The X-Men are a superhero team of mutants founded by Professor Charles Xavier. They are dedicated to helping fellow mutants and sworn to protect a world that fears and hates them.

I like(d) Vulcan, I'm suprised that he's so totally despised.

me likes :)" Morrison's run being dismissed. "
1)chuck austen killing of Skin....then forgetting his last name!!! lol
2)Magneto from morrisons run turned into twin xorns (xorneto anyone?)
3)the revolution reshuffling of the x-titles back in 2000...it killed both gen x and X-man and made x-force bland + clarmont returned to x-men and never explained why some members were M I A.
4) Monet from gen-x becoming the m-twins, M and penance/Hollow (confusion and a muddled history ensues)
5) the not so subtle ending of psylocke and Angel's romance
6) Allowing Matt Fraction to get his hands on a flagship X-Title (Craption ensues)
7) making Bishop into a villain...why could'nt we just say he was a skrull and be over with it?
8) the cancellation of new X-men academy x....so that garbage like Young X-men can be made (vomit induction indeed)
Vulcan, Stryfe, Emma and Scott, Wolverines new powers (if he wasn't hyped up enough), Onslaught, Sabretooth getting killed off, Magneto being able to fight off Xaviour and JG WITHOUT HIS HELMET...pah :P Don't get me wrong I like Mags and he is a powerful character, but that was taking things a little too far in my IMHO :)
Jean and wolverine relationship was bad. Why would jean betray scott after all they went thru, it would just backfire everthing they stand for intergity and character. Its a bizzare action they would have been better off putting Wolverine with Rogue or another x team related character, why not. Another barely adding new long lasting characters that made an impact, they did add some characters but they stunk.
the entire treatment/writing (or lack thereof) of the character Penance (now Hollow). read the bio.
this was by far the worst mess ever, even the retcon couldnt save it and the Handbook
writers were boggled. see M Twins for more details. great idea for a character here
absolutely nuked.

in noticing a Shadowcat bullet thread, the Shadowcat bullet thing is on my list as well.
not out of being a hardcore fan either, but out of how stupid the idea that she couldnt be
retrieved from the bullet traveling in a straight path, considering who was present at
the time, nor after considering them and who the X-Men have for friends. even after
there is a mention by Colossus and Scotts like " Later man, we have other things to
worry about. " Huh? thats bad writing. basically writing around it so the whole thing
seems more eventful. seriously if you doubt that take a look at who was present at the time
of incident and think of not only what these individuals are capable but who theyre friends
are as well.

2. The Legacy Virus's Miraculous Cure
3. Colossus's Resurrection
4. M-Day

7. Killing Magik ( It's Just My Opinion! )
Many mistakes... so little time.
I wish newer writers will read what the characters are supposed to be so if ever they hype up the character, it will not just be shoved in ones face and take it as it is.
As for me. the Scott Summers and Jean Grey story is an epic fail and the trying to imitate previous story lines like the Dark Phoenix Saga, just to make a plot story.
I hate what they did to Rachel Summers though...
I really hate alternate reality/time travel stories and the products of alternate reality/time travel stories. Most of them, at least. And if anyone's overdone the alternate reality/time travel crap more than anyone, it's the X-Men.
They should have stopped with Rachel Summers but no! they have to have Cable, Bishop, now there is Ruby Summers... oooh, well!
Told you some writers keep on repeating the same formula.
pixelized pointed out one of his mistakes to me once..." Fraction "
Northstar on a motorcycle
Cyclops: " Northstar, we need you here ASAP! "
Northstar: " Eh....might be awhile, sorry. Motorcycle is out of gas again..."
Bah! People going on about the Phoenix, a story that surfaces maybe twice a decade. It really is no big deal. Now Storm on the other hand, that is a character that might as well be Phoenix, yet she gets to hang around being damn near omnipotent on a constant basis. At least Phoenix leaves whenever she gets too powerful.

Well before Logan could only regenerate tissue (and possibly bone), not organ's......so how come he healed himself when he was only a skeleton O-O
I still wish Namor stayed away it upsets me as both a Namor fan and a X-Men fan. Namor on a "Team" never works he has physically fought everyone he has ever been on a team with literally. Atlantis being destroyed in the first place was dumb they blew it up and went nowhere with it what was the point? Marvel writers are just Dicks to Namor.

When could he not regenerate organs?
I've read Logan/x-men since the early 90's and his healing factor has been advanced several times...at first he could heal gunshots wounds in minutes if they were clean shots not near vital organs.....it took him months to heal from that fight he had with Lord Shingen because the sword went right through his chest (front to back) though now he can survive an atomic blast O-O....being able to regenerate himself from a skeleton is just ridiculous (making him seem immortal) he is not immortal and can die, just not as easily as some :)

There's so much I don't like about the run, too much to mention. So i'll tell you the main one's that really had me cursing....The character Damien Wayne UGH! Why?....would be my question and Final Crisis #6 when Batman suddenly changes his mind about the 'no gun rule' and shoots darkseid.....WHAT? 0-0 Batman hates guns and does everything in his power to rid the world of them. He saw his parents shot and killed right in front of him, that why he became who he is today, he wouldn't change his mind just like that...what a crock of SH##. Killing and using gun's goes against every fibre of his being and that is what he has stood for over that last 60 years and along comes Morrison who thinks he can do what the hell he likes with the characters and we have to swallow it and say thankyou, can I have somemore?...well not me babe, i've left the sinking ship, I've stopped reading Batman. Did you honestly think that he pulled it off....or like most Batman fans...thought it was totally lame way to get rid of Bruce for a while?

Lol.....You know what am trying to say though! It totally sucks when new writers totally change the fundamental traits of characters we like just for the hell of it :)
"Bah! People going on about the Phoenix, a story that surfaces maybe twice a decade. It really is no big deal. She's black, powerful, African, and popular enough to have her own wig line.....................................if they don't make a strong description of her powers real soon, I'm gonna be pissed.
I thought that some of the stuff in Morrisons run was really good i.e. the destruction of Genosha, Emma officially becoming an X-Man, Jean's death, Cassandra Nova, the Cuckoos etc
I think one of the biggest mistakes was leaving New York, i just hope that they return soon, but i cant see that happening with Utopia an all of that stuff going on :(
first, i really love the X-Babies, and i really loved the new series. that out of the way.
in X-Babies #4, the X-babies are consistently in different standing positions without actually walking to them.
I always wondered what woulda happened if the initial flirtations between Jean and Angel became more intense. Prolly woulda driven Scott to leave the team and maybe join Magneto as leader of the Brotherhood and cement him as a badass villain (maybe even hooking him up with Wanda).
I definitely think the "connection" between Jean and Logan is much more powerful as long as nothing actually happens between them. I always wondered about his friendship with Betsy though...they really seem to have an understanding and mutual respect for each other w/o having any hint of romantic hubajoo.
And as for the "runt" comments...its right on. Artists can sexify Logan-San all they want (Al-la Hugh Jackman), but the fact of the matter is, he's written to be a dirty, hairy, stumpy (5'2"), gruff-voiced, old man with cigar stank on his breath...not to say that still wouldn't whoo a lady or two, or the occasional fella ;)
As for the mistakes:
House of M was awesome (just my 2 cents) but the aftermath, the "No more mutants", while powerful in that single caption...wasn't in the follow-through. I watched the Wikipedia Decimation page in awe as characters flip-flopped between being depowered/repowered/redepowered/deredepowered/etc... what a mess.
Psylocke's resurrection....what? the? hell? I was ecstatic when she came back, but the fact that this was Claremont's plan from the beginning (so he says) is just so totally lame. The Foursaken? Four-saken? yuck. She should have been resurrected by Roma from the beginning. There was no reason to create 3 more mutants, 3 more 2-bit mutants when all Marvel writers HAD to be aware that most of the ancillary ones were getting neutered. and THEN to make the whole thing involve an Anti-Phoenix!? yuck, yuck, yuck. and THEN to rip her away from Excalibur and have her own brother barely flinch and to sit her on the bench with the Exiles, of course, written by Claremont (@#$%)
Before I continue...I gotta compose myself. I'm at work and I'm bored to tears and I hate Claremont. I'll leave it at that.
