Don't think they were ever really "friends" anyway. They respected each other as leaders, and maybe as warriors too. But I would like to see this ceaseless Hero on Hero fighting end within Marvel comics.

Lol as much as I would like them too, I hope they at least keep them friendly enemies because Uncanny's "Revolutionary" premise is reliant on them being at least somewhat antagonistic.

I predict it'll be a begrudging hand offered: Cyclops' gets injured saving Wolverine's bacon, so Wolverine is obligated to help get him out of there in spite of their differences. Cue him offering the hand to help him up and them walking out of there in that last panel.

They are the new professor x and Magneto. Friends who don't agree with each other and hate many things that the other has done and will do but deep done they respect and care for each other.

They were never really friends anyways.

"Friends" No. Companions that work together once in a blue moon, sure. I feel like with all they've been through the last few years, it would be impossible for them to be friends again. They can settle their differences though and work together.

Heres the only ways i see them becoming friends or teammates again:

1. If xavier comes back and says it wasnt cyclops' fault that he died. (bc it really wasnt)

2.The xmen finally get a new enemy. Like I could really see shield becoming an xmen enemy and then wolverine would have to decide between the xmen and the avengers and he would have to chose xmen this time.

3.Scotts team becomes undeniably heroic and the whole public supports his cause. This would make wolverine see that cyc was right the whole time and finally come to peace

And make a lot of simplistic stories where X-Men is only good and the humans are bad? No thanks. Hopefully some day there will be mutants that can see that mutants shouldn't bee allowed to have use mind control against people, blasting laser out from our eyes or controlling magnetic at will. And that any mutant powers that are used in an aggressive way should be lock up. Mutants have human rights not mutants rights. If magneto is so much for mutants rights he should have taken of his helmet off years ago and had let Xavier mind rape him over and over again. But he hasn't which is mind blowing hypocrisy.

I didnt say it had to be a human enemy. right now mystique is messing with shield so she could cause it. I also said its just where theyve been headed lately. Also it doesnt have to be simplistic at all or have everything be in black and white. Im just tired of seeing xmen teams fighting each other and not fighting for the causes that they are fighting over in the first place.

@bigtewell: My point is that is about time that mutants figures that they don't all have the same goal or idea and need to split up it is kind of the point of no return (even though it really don't exist in comic books).

Am I the only one who likes the feud?

I love that Scott's revolutionary X-men are on the run and against it all, yet are being heroic in spite of it all. There is something great about seeing a character do wrong and try to right it, trying to stand up for what they think is right. I like the tension of characters not know who they can trust and where their allegiances lie. I just think that it is more realistic.

Wolverine has basically just turned into a biog hypocrite who acts like he has never done any wrong and Cyclops is not ok with that.

It's Jason Aaron and Cyclops. He's made Cyclops a tool whenever he writes him over the past few years. Schism, WatXM and BoTA all had instances with Scott under his pen just being more of an ass than usual.

I agree with this in general, but the last two issues of Wolverine & the X-Men (38 and 39) have been pretty good reads regardless.

Whenever a new creative team comes along and want to cash in on the team being united again. Possibly with a Marvel-wide mega event with "a threat so big, former allies turned enemies need to unite again!" type angle. The Phoenix would randomly appear, and Hope would be in one or two issues of some other book.

@oldnightcrawler: I'll admit it has been better than it has in a long time. While I might have nitpicked an issue or two, like Cyclops can't use wide blasts anymore despite shooting building sized blasts in UXM, it's been solid. It just sucks it took this long for Aaron to actually put some merit in this book again and on its last legs. Especially with Wolverine, a character I know he can write extremely well.

They've never really been friends, the closest they ever got was basically work buddies, you know like a dude at work who you joke around with and sit with at lunch but you never really associate with outside of the job.

When Jean Grey and Emma Frost become friends, i say that they can be friends.

@god_spawn: yeah, the book has been extremely inconsistent; issue 38 was the first one I picked up since before #30 - The Hellfire Saga Prelude (and only because the SHIELD conspiracy was the only interesting thing to come from BotA), but I was very pleasantly surprised with how focused and well balanced that issue was, and 39 was just as good.

This is a book I could have done without, but it wasn't all bad, and it's good now, so I'll probably see it out.

Does anyone know who is going to be in "the trail of jean grey"??? Is it just the all-new x-men and the GotG? They should have the uncanny x-men in it too but i guess bendis wants to keep them seperate even if their in the same school, lol
