I wonder if the backlash once some of the humans inevitably figure that out would end up like "Watchmen", where the ones who know keep it a secret because the world is in a better position not knowing, or like the fallout when Batman recovered from Zatanna's attempted mindwiping or Dr. Light. There is some story potential, there.

better yet, why not brainwash all the mutants so they can peacefully live with humans? In humans defense, we were here first. It's an environmental standpoint. The animals and trees were here first, so we should respect and nurture them to ensure our survival.
