I have been reading X-Force and have found she is a robot...
The once considered Mutant Jesus is a robot???
Why has she suddenly not been given the importance that she used to...
Team » X-Men appears in 13419 issues.

Hope was merely a plot device intended on "replacing" the original Jean Grey and bringing back the mutant population... Once that was done, writers didn't know what to do with her since she had done what she essentially created for, so they placed her in another book as a side character...
Plus, Marvel have brought back the ORIGINAL albeit Teen Jean Grey...
Why have a clone/granddaughter/alternate reality version of Jean Grey when you can have the ORIGINAL even though she is a teenager...
Also, Hope is annoying
The created a character who's sole purpose was to be a plot device and didn't consider what to do with her once she did what they created her to do
Which is a real shame because while she has been annoying sometimes, there were A LOT of plot points and possibilities with her that haven't been used at all
she is not a robot she was copying a mutants power who was part robot plus now she is copying phantomex power
@the_stegman: Some i joke that she is special attacker Rogue because her powers doesnt need contact.
@vitalius: She's Peter Petrelli from Heroes!

yup yup what he said
I think some of the Hope/Jean opinions are more then a little dated since she really hasn't been connected to Jean outside of the Phoenix since she returned to this timeline...
Otherwise Yea....she served her purpose. She was designed to bring the mutants back through a long 3 arc process.....but because of how the final arc in that saga (the dreaded AvX),sort of forcefully wrapped up and ignored her previous plotlines....she had no where to go and nothing especially interesting about her.
So they paired her back up with Cable to repair both of them and sort of rebuild her as a solid (if not major),character.
Bendis killed her with Teen Jean!!!
BENDIS!!!!
lol yup
Because she was designed as a plot device, and was not intended to actually be a fully realized character.
She served her purpose, now she's filler.
Pretty much. AvX is over, so now she's just another red head to throw into the pile.
@phoenixofthetides: the plot point that wont go away
The better question is why she was ever important to begin with? The whole "messiah" plot device is over 2015 years old. I mean, honestly, in a world that is so thoroughly over-populated why do we still buy into these storylines about ONE baby being the most important baby...like, ever? It's just silly.
@hopesummersforthefuture: What issue is this from?
@lxlgiftedlxl: recent x-force, dont know which number

right on HEX
@hopesummersforthefuture: Ok thanks.
Make her a villain, isn't that what happens to Jean clones in the X-universe. Make Madelyn Pryor proud! But Seriously wasnt that bishops beef with her anyway for causing the death of a million people?
@earthsmightiest: She was the cause of the destruction of his timeline or something's....
It's been ages since Bishop was important in the x-Books
She served her purpose, now she's filler.
=(
It is a shame really since she has been written really well in X-force
I agree with this
Because she was more like a plot device for AvX.
I couldn't agree more
I don't think any Summers were important. It is the reason we hardly see them around.
what are you talking about??? cyclops is the star of uncanny x-men/main character
Scott Summers: Main star of the Uncanny X-Men book... The main X-Men title...
Teen Cyclops: Has his own solo doing well....
Corsair(Scott and Alex's dad): Currently in Space with the Starjammers with his teen son, trying to raise him...
Cable: Main star in the X-Force series...
Havok: Leader of the Uncanny Avengers (Leading the Same team with CAPTAIN AMERICA)
Rachel: Just got an arc in the Adjective less X-Men book and is main in the Amazing X-Men book and an important member of the Jean Grey School...
The only unimportant member is Nate Grey
@awesomeperson: @hopesummersforthefuture:
He is trying to bait you, just ignore.
@earthsmightiest: You are right...
His name is "U Hypocrite"
What do you think is going to happen after Secret War ???
The writer have been treating Cyclops like crap lately. So he's not that important like he used to be. People are starting to dislike him.
Teen Cyclops doesn't count.
Corsair barely around only when an Xm go to space is when we see him.
X-Force ended. So where is Cable?
Havok is probably the only one I can think he's been written well since The war of kings
Rachel just started to emerge more often and who knows for how long.
Nate, Hope, and Jean (since she's been dead), are pretty much unimportant.
@uhypocrite: Seriously...
What is your definition of important....
They all get their own solo titles???!?!?

Jean so far still has ties to the Phoenix and is mentioned every 5 seconds, so even in death she is important and then there is the fact that she is still alive in her younger form and has been the focus of many stories since emerging from the past. The Summers family is important because Scott is the first X-men and his ex-wife was the first of Xaviers students that went on to save the universe and their genes have created three of the most powerful mutants to walk the Earth.

nice!!!
That cool like a cool design for a new character at least for me. I love wing heroes.
that was hope copying fantomex powers in the recent x-force........also shes awake from her coma
@fodigg: How would that be the best? If they are going to erase years of canon by changing her powers they might as well just get rid of her and make a new character. It's not like new powers would suddenly not make her Hope.
The best thing they could do for her is give her a different powerset. Rogue-lite isn't a good fit.
I read an article where it's stated that Marvel is planing to eliminate those who have similarity power. Unless if they are related they won't be touch. Example will be like Magneto and Polaris who have similar powers, but they won't be eliminated because they are father and daughter. An example as for Hope and Rogue, more imaginable that one of them are going to vanish from the face of Marvel Universe. They did it with Tempo who can stop time because there was another one who can also do the same thing. Sadly might be one to go and I think it's Hope. I believe she was only a plot device to keep the Missiah Complex and Avx going. Sadly because I liked her.

Why has she suddenly not been given the importance that she used to...
One word.
Inconsistencies.
Except Rogue and Hopes powers have more differences than similarities. For one unlike Hope, Rogue does not copy powers, she absorbs them negatively affecting her target that she must choose specifically also gaining a piece of their consciousness. Hope merely copies powers of everybody around that she can access, without consequences to the powers and mind of either her or the targets, and her powers are limited to mutants. Hopes powers are more like Mimics or even Syncs (because unlike Mimic he is limited to mutants) than Rogues, and Marvel already got rid of them.

Only fanboys will say she's important. She is SOOOOOOOOO important that writers left her dead for that long.
An only you would equate not being alive with being unimportant. The point is regardless of her life status she is mentioned often, has a school named after her, is still operating from the White Hot Room quite recently in AVX and an alternate reality, has recently had a future version herself travel to the past and a still very relevant past self travel to the present and being a major focus in X-titles,on top of always (even in death) be on nearly every who's who as far as Marvel popularity list is concerned.

I'm not sure I buy consolidation of powersets as a driving force considering how many new different characters we've gotten since hope. Like the Wolverine & the X-Men kids. None of them are that unique power wise. The most unique ones were those introduced in New X-Men, like no-girl.
@fodigg: How would that be the best? If they are going to erase years of canon by changing her powers they might as well just get rid of her and make a new character. It's not like new powers would suddenly not make her Hope.
It would help define her more because her specific power--unlocking powers of mutants who failed to become mutants and then copying their powers--was so intrinsically tied to her messiah story. She needs something a little more "common utility" to find a new niche.
New powers are not always the answer, but in some cases, it can help redefine a character. I'd hold up Archangel as one success story.

They are all power mimics. You gotta bottom-line these things. The nuances are meaningless, and "mimicry" is a weak defining trait. It's especially hard to sell more than one of those.
