I'd probably read anything with Oliver Coipel for prettiness.

For writing I'd go with Whedon or Bendis.

Does anyone remember how long it took for Joss Whedon and John Cassaday to finish a book? Don't get me wrong Astonishing X-Men was a great run, but Holy F*** some times it took over three months in till you got the next issue. It took them almost four years to put out 25 books. Cassaday still can't meet a deadline, and his art has taken a turn for the worse.

this is so the dream team, for me. But I'm sure Whedon would be writing the X-men if he wanted to be. So I'd rather see someone who's actually interested in writing them.

That's true. Unfortunately, it seems that Joss Whedon is too busy with movies at the moment, but I would be happy if he came back to the X-men books sometime!

    it was worth the wait.

    Writer: Brian K Vaughan

    Artist: Greg Land

Character I would like to see: Storm, Selene, Rachel, Surge, Pixie, Sage, Northstar, Frenzy, Psylocke, Gambit, Madelyne Pryor and Misty Knight interact with the X-men again. And the Astral Plane.

Joss Whedon on writing. John Cassaday was perfect for that, but I would also take anything from Capullo at this point, and Jae Lee is always fun. Though neither of those would necessarily fit with Whedon's writing.

    So pretty much Whedon/Cassaday.

See i agree with Judas but have to dissagree with you dang, I dropped that title mid way through the Breakworld story cause it got so damn hard to keep up with, the wait was silly and it wasnt THAT great, i also think it ended with Kitty getting trapped in a bullet?! (like i said i didnt read it but thats my understanding) so that seems really silly. I am by far not dissing the team but i wouldn't want them back, at least not if they couldn't meet deadlines.

    I got two dream teams:

Old School Return of Scott Lobdell & Chris Bachelo. BIggest problem is Bachelo never seems to stay long enough on any book then the art switch is always a massive change and takes a while to get used too simply because his style is so different.

Other then that I would love to see

Johnathan Hickman & Stuart Immomen take a run at the X men, i thoroughly enjoyed Hickman's FF work and his stuff with Avengers thus far as seemed good. This also shows he can handle the team aspect of the book that so many people seem to have problems with, and Immomen's work in the first few All New is simply breath taking so yea love to see that some more

To be fair, I originally read Astonishing as the trades came out, so I was getting a whole story line at a time, so I guess that might be why the wait never bothered me as much; for me each instalment was a full sequel to the last. But I can see how monthly instalments would've been frustrating (I'm feeling much the same with Batwoman recently). That said, if you haven't read Whedon's run in it's entirety, it really is worth checking out.

And, honestly, if they paired Hickman and Immonen on anything, I'd probably love it!

Yea ive looked for back issues of the run but no real chance and i hate buying trades when i own part of the story already lol but yea like i stated im not dissing the run its was incredible read but it kept getting longer and longer on teh wait one time i remeber it was 3 months and still no no issue, thats when i totally just forgot about it, about 6ish months later i seen the issue after the one i had missed and was like oh screw it its too hard to keep up with and just stopped.

And yes Hickman and Immonen would be incredible :D

@McKlayn: yeah, it does seem unlikely that they'll be very important in such a large cast. But the book has been pretty fun, though.
