Cyclops & Jean. not even for them being a couple & tragic love story. one is the embodiment of leadership(Cyclops) & the other the embodiment of power(Jean). separate each is powerful in their own right together they can achieve greatness..... if only jean was written right the first time around!!!!
Scott and Emma
She made scott a better leader, able to make tough calls. He helped turn her from what she was as a member of the Hellfire club, into an X-man.
Storm and Jean is by far one of the deadliest duos.
Agreed. My order from this list of power duos would be:
Storm and Jean
Polaris & Havok
Gambit and Rogue (with classic Ms.Marvel powers)
I'd also add in the awesome duo of Storm & Psylocke.
not sold on Storm and Jean... too much in the same sphere of powers - phenomenally powerful... easily the most powerful duo on the list....
would prefer to see some variery. Storm and Psylocke, Storm and Sage, Storm and Gambit, Storm and Wolverine, Storm and Nightcrawler. Storm and Colossus. These are infinitely more versatile team-ups. Although, i'll grant, in the Storm/Jean duo its Storm who'd fill the scrapper/utility player role... where-in all those i listed, she is the POWER.
chose Emma and Scott. Scott's been a monumentally better character in every way since he went with Emma. She made him a better leader, a more complete man, gave him the confidence Jean always seemed to rob him of. Scott and Jean always seemed so tragically co-dependent. He does always fight well with a telepath nearby, and if Jean's influence is negative, Emma's presence is the better. She's also willing to do things that Jean wouldn't, and in many cases wouldn't even think.
In what terms are we speaking?
Dominance on the battle field(say we unleash them in the mall on Black Friday) or just how they work together in the story?
I voted Cyclops/Jean, they work better in battle then the other combos (except Storm/Jean if they were in a mall on Black Friday...there wouldn't be a mall) and they work well together behind the scenes of the x-men no matter what definition....though Emma/Scott may beat them there.
Scott/Jean is just balanced.
any two classic X-men characters together is basically what I like about the X-men, but none more so than these two.
Cyclops and Jean are a powerhouse combo - between his strategic acumen and raw power, and her ability to coordinate and control movement on the battlefield, they have the best team synergy I've seen. She even has a recorded comment in the Marvel Heroes game that encapsulates this: "It's just like the Danger Room, Scott. You set them up and I'll know them down."
Storm and Jean take the last place position, for sheer raw power. I tend to think there is less synergy here, but I think they deserve at least second place.
Havok and Polaris are my third choice, but their synergy is like a lesser version of Cyclops and Jean's since both are energy manipulators, and are used to working with each other.
*re-ordered after further thought*
Jean and Storm's synergy is more potent than any other female relationships in the X-men team. Two forces of nature acting in perfect concert with one another. Their bond was even strong enough to unite the teams after X-Factor had been formed and oon the battle field they each had no problem taking orders and vice versa from one another while also voicing their opinion. That's why I picked these two also considering the fact that their powersets allow them more diversity than most combos in the X-men.
I'm gonna have to go with Cyclops and Jean. The reason is because the were meant to be. Ha
But apparently according to Greg Rucka, the author of the Cyclops series, they're no more. :|

which is all well and good. Jean and Scott are perhaps the most boring couple besides only Peter and Mary-Jane.
Although the Cyclops series hangs on a complete retcon or ridiculous revision... Corsair is UTTERLY dead. Not just a little dead. practically vaporised dead.

In your opinion. I see nothing boring about 2 people having a long-lasting, stable relationship. Which applies in BOTH cases.
Its the angsty drama-filled crap that is clogging comics these days that I find boring.
Cable and Domino
I enjoy their uh Soldier style together
but my favorite to see together you left out
Colossus and Wolverine FAST BALL SPECIAL FTW

I so love and miss the Claremazon Ororo/Jean moments. Their abilities compliment each other quite well. I wish we got the original Jean back to be on the XX-Men. A rematch between her and Madelyne would have been epic.
See, I'm kind of confused by this thread, because it says it's about "power duos", which is kind of vague, but all of the options are actually (or have been) couples except for Wolverine and Jubilee and Wolverine and Kitty, which both seem uncomfortably out of place on this list for that reason..

the main thing is that these stated duo's have fought side by side & the question basically is which duo has the better dynamic or are the most effective in terms of teamwork
