What the Phoenix Five arc showed us is that it doesn't really matter. They get a cool costume and then they're basically the same Phoenix power-wise as Jean Grey was.

Rogue, definately not! Mageneto ,Storm , Psylocke, Rachel, Xman. Nah I take that back, they had a fewf my favorites out there honestly.

Yea i don't think it was about power as much as personality. Those five had the personalities to do it, Magneto might of been a nice addition or subsitute if you had to make one.

Mags over Colossus i guess. But at that time Colossus was also battling with his inner demons. But Emma, Magik, Namor and Scott fit the bill.

Eh, I don't think Magneto would have been that great of a selection. He'd of essentially been the same as Namor.

I would have like for it to have chosen the original 4 surviving xmen - cyke, iceman, beast, angel and Emma frost as a jean grey replacement. Would have been interesting since beast strongly opposes cyke in terms of xmen politics, and angel is still very naive since his rebirth.

There are no potential characters that could have made the Phoenix Five anything more than the joke it was

for the record NONE OF THE PHOENIX FIVE WERE MORE POWERFUL THEN JEAN GREY AS THE PHOENIX OR ANY OTHER OF THE MORE RECENT PHOENIX WEILDERS...... RACHEL CAME THE CLOSEST BUT NOONE HAS RE-WROTE TIME, DESTROYED STARS, FIXED THE M'KRAAN CRYSTAL OR ANYTHING OF THAT SORT. THE ONLY THING THAT PHOENIX FIVE PROVED IS THAT OMEGA LEVEL MUTANTS NO LONGER ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT COULD WEILD THE POWER BUT THEY OBVIOUSLY CANT REACH THE FULL POWER LEVEL.

I would have replaced Colossus with Franklin Richards. Otherwise, the other members of the P5 were pretty good choices (esp. Magik).

Also, I know Franklin isn't currently an X-Man; I'm just thinking of the X-Men Annual in which he was a member of the futuristic version of the team. Anyway, he'd be a better host than most of the current X-Men.

Storm or Hellion would have also been good P5 users.

We saw what Storm was capable with the Phoenix force. Total Badass. I love it!

Calm down. The Phoenix Five only, initially, had a fragment of the Phoenix Force.

And, you can't clarify that Cyclops with full PF wasn't as powerful as Jean.

Well, I think that they needed a character like Namor, someone too full of rage and that pride of himself. So Namor was a good choice for them.

Yes she froze nearly every superhero in the atmosphere (including Thor and the rest of the Avengers) and let's not forget what she did to doom...

Storm would've been a badass Phoenix. She's already uber-powerful, and her inner desire to be a Goddess would've been realized and then some.

Magneto also would have been incredible to see, in addition to being one of the hardest people to beat
