I'm going with Joesph. Who is your choice?

Team » X-Men appears in 7440 issues.
The depressed and self-pitying cynic in me wants to say Cyclops, so I could be spared all this pain, but I will go with;
Namor.
@knighthood: I figured if you started a thread it'd be good.
Number one X-character I wish never existed: the Phoenix. Not Jean Grey, the Phoenix.

Number two would be a tie between the fake Magnetos, Joseph and Xorn.
the main reason for disliking all of these characters, though, is how contrived they were. And how much those contrivencies distracted from the concepts that I appreciate about the X-men.
Maggot. What a waste. I didn't mind Joseph-- I just didn't see the purpose for him. At least he had a good death. Then... they brought him back. >.

Also I'd probably pick Longneck. What a waste of a character. Seriously.
Nah, he can exist, just not as a mutant. Always hated that retcon.@FadeToBlackBolt said:

Aw, why Beak? He's like the most harmless guy ever.Namor.
Emma Frost.
Beak
@poisonfleur: oh yeah! how could I forget Hope?
She's got nothin' going for her except being right in the middle of some of the worst X-men stories ever. She's like the definition of a push-it-down-their-throats character!
totally can't agree with Wolverine or Namor, though. Love those guys.
Cable.....also known as 80's action movie, superhuman soldier ripoff.
I am just going to quote someone that I heavily agree with because they said it best....
"To me, Cable always symbolized the epitome of X-Men continuity problems as his origin has all of the problems of a soap opera, an Alabama family tree, a convoluted time travel plot, and a mindless action film all in one! Consequently, I pretty much hate Cable."

@FadeToBlackBolt: that doesn't mean he was ever not a mutant.
Cyclops
The Phoenix Force (inhabiting Jean Grey)
Namor
Hope
The Five Lights
Quentin Quire
Wolverine
Xorn
X-Man (yes I said it)
Havok
Vulcan
Bishop
Joseph
Doctor Nemesis
Fantomex
Legion
Juggarnaut
Angel (the reborn version now)
Any lame mutant student that has newly manifested their powers!
And those are just off the top of my head!!
@dangallant984: No i was kidding. While she isnt my favorite i do like her and i think she make X-Men the comics and the team better. I would rather see someone else go i just wanted to see what people would say. I was going to say her or Wolverine (bc he is so popular) I actually would normally say Cyclops but since mutants moved to Utopia, Cyclops has been pretty cool.
I'd say Jean Grey but then many X-Stories wouldn't have existed. I don't like Jean, I really hate the redhead, and many other characters too, but I couldn't say "I wish he/she never existed" because without them the X-Men that I love maybe wouldn't even exist. So, well I don't want to erase anyone from existance.

That's a really good point, which is why I tried not to just pick boring/lame characters, because there are lots.
That said, I don't think Hope or either of the two fake Magnetos added anything of real substance, while distracting from what was actually good.
And I would argue the same about the Phoenix, but, at this point it's just effected too much.
Danger, she really didn't bring anything to the X-Men universe, although the "Dangerous" arc in Joss Whedon's run was a pretty good story.
The Phoenix Force what good has this concept brought? The death of Jean Gray and The corruption of Cyclops. Stupid

@dangallant984: Thanks. No Phoenix means no Dark Phoenix Saga. I don't know if I could go that far. I would even have a hard time getting rid of "Phoenix Coma" Jean Grey. Yes I hated when they brought her back, but I really did enjoy Simonson's run on X-Factor in which Jean was quite essential.
@poisonfleur: Hope is just another Jean "clone" in my opinion. I guess if she had a different hair color she would be decent. I'm still going with Joseph. I just hated that guy.
@time: Emma was fine as a villain. They should have left her at that.

Lol. What a list. I wouldn't have the Phoenix reappear after the Dark Phoenix Saga. Period. Namor should have never joined the X-Men. Hope... meh. YEP on Xorn, X-Man, Vulcan, Joseph, Nemesis, Fantomex, & Legion. Warren should have been left as the blue skinned Archangel.

I'm going with X-23. I don't hate the character, I just can't stand her fans. That has to be one of the most annoyingest groups of people on the internet.
True. Plus, I tend to automatically hate on knock-off characters and I feel she falls in that category.

I'm THE BIGGEST fan of X-Men EVER!!! But there are certain things that I just don't like or agree about!!

Double ditto. I would not miss any of those characters. Can we kill them now before they start cloning themselves like Fantomex. There's three of him now!
