I've read very little X-Men comics, and I want to get into reading them due to being a massive fan of the X-Men films (yes, I know, the comics are largely different).

For a new reader, what would you recommend?

New X-Men->Astonishing X-Men->Messiah Complex->Second Coming->Gillen's Uncanny ->AvX-> Bendis' Uncanny if your trying to catch up.

Astonishing X-Men, New X-Men(Kyle and Yost), X-Men/X-Men Legacy by Carey, X-Factor by Peter David, X-Force by Kyle and Yost, X-Force by Remender and New Mutants Vol 3 if your looking for modern classics.

The OG Claremont run on Uncanny and New Mutants if your looking for Undeniable classics.

Pick any one of these and enjoy.....
