@cobracommander: There does seem to be a lot of love for Karma. I presume that comes from Liu's Astonishing run.

Can someone please advise if Liu's Astonishing run is worth getting hold of? I've heard that the characterisations are good, but that it is a bit boring.

@tristanheron: I don't know about anyone else but my love for Karma stems from the New Mutants. She was pretty cool in Academy X too. Liu's run was pretty cool too but for the beat arcs were the Weaponized arc which did have Karma heavily featured and the Iceman Death seed arc which was great. Hard to forgive Liu for what she did to Hellion and X23 and for featuring Northstar (cant understand why he would be featured except for the obvious)but she's not a terrible writer at all. So while its not completely necessary the run is pretty cool. You probably can find everything at a 2nd and Charles type bookstore for cheap that's normally where I see a good bit of her stuff for Xmen

If Gambit's in a book, I buy it.

@hawk2916: Thanks for your thoughts. From what little I have read of the New Mutants, Karma always seemed to be overshadowed by Dani, Cannonball and Magik. I might have a look at Academy X too as I recently re-read Messiah Complex and quite liked the New X-Men stuff.

Eden Fesi aka Manifold.

I'd like him to take up the mantle of Abyss and be the teleporter. I think his personality has a great mixture of levity and gravity; he is the much needed "black male mutant"; he has connections with Gateway and if the X-Men do get shunted off into space he has untapped cosmic potential.

I am a fan of both, but am glad to see regular Wolverine and Cyclops taking a break. Hope to see other characters take more significant roles in the franchise.
