What if Colossus and Kitty Pryde had a kid? A son who could go from indestructible and super strong to intangible with flight. Not an omega level mutant but definitely upper level. If you could think of another couple having a kid, who would it be?
X-Men
Team » X-Men appears in 13410 issues.
The X-Men are a superhero team of mutants founded by Professor Charles Xavier. They are dedicated to helping fellow mutants and sworn to protect a world that fears and hates them.
What if Colossus and..
I don't think that is how it works.
Traits in the parent can be found in the child but there is no guarantee of a perfectly balanced amalglam of powers.
This I agree.
@tbemrmccoy: I would go with Ultimate Kitty's powers: super dense and maybe enhanced strength (Colossus) and intangibility (Pryde). But no flying, air-walking.
I'm waiting for her.

She is so bad-ass. I wished that she actually met Cyclops and Emma Frost. Now would be a perfect time to do so.

Seems like for many writers that's exactly the way inheritance works lol
Not how that works, man. Look at Mystique and Nightcrawler, for instance, or Nightcrawler and Nocturne.
Well considering this from the standpoint that both Kitty and Piotr's powers have to do with shifting dimensions in a way, much like Piotr's siblings it's not unreasonable to think that any child of theirs would or could have abilities along the same track. (Colossus's organic steel actually comes from another dimension, his sister can teleport between places and dimensions and their other brother (Mikhail) can also shift dimensions albeit in a different manner. To this you have kitty who can shift her molecules out of "phase" which is a like form of connecting to another dimension, perhaps one between dimensions.) So their kid being able to go from super light to super heavy, controlling their mass, density and perhaps size would be reasonable in the comic book sense. Essentially a child who can do what Antman/Giantman/Wasp can do as a mutation and without the need of Pym particles.

For real? Where was this stated? How is that possible? Is it like how Cyclop's beam is powered by the sun and came from Another dimension. His eyes are a portal to Another dimension.
@squares: Well Nightcrawler is probably the perfect example of amalgamated genetics. Azazel's powers and demonic appearance + Mystique's natural blue skin = 1 fuzzy blue elf. Although he didn't gain Mystique's powers as the OP suggested he would in a similar scenario, so yeah, it isn't quite how it works. But, Nightcrawler is an example of it coming damn close.
@jaken7: Yeah, that's true.

Yup, for real. It's always been that way. From the Marvel Wiki "In willing the act of transformation, Colossus actually exchanges osmium atoms for his carbon atoms. The psionic interface with the other dimension re-creates all of Colossus's body in functionally similar organic ionic-osmium materials. The process by which Colossus gains additional mass from an unknown, perhaps extra-dimensional, force remains unknown."
