Okay, who is actually the first mutant to ever appear on Earth? Selene Gallio or Apocalypse? I read Selene's biography and hers seem logical and believable but since she manipulative and misleading, she could be lying (or so I heard).

Apocalypse seems more logical and understandable. So I believed that until I read about Selene.

The question is who is the first actual mutant?

Is Selene the second mutant or is Apocalypse the second?

Apocalypse first appeared on Earth in Ancient Egypt and Selene first appeared in Ancient Europe. She may have been named after the roman goddess Selene or was an influence to the name. She claimed that she appeared 17,000 years ago. Apocalypse was born 5,000 years ago. And we all know that Namor is not the first mutant to appear on Earth but he was the first mutant that Marvel ever created.

But most sources cite Apocalypse as the first mutant to ever appear on Earth. What do you guys think? I was explaining this to my friend and I mentioned Selene and when I said she claimed to be the first mutant born on Earth, he got confused. So was she lying or not? Is Apocalypse the first mutant and Selene is the second or is Selene the first and Apocalypse is the second?

ive always been under the impression it was Apoc, but i cant cite any facts or anything to back it up just what i think lol

i think it's now really beyond question that Selene is the oldest STILL LIVING mutant on Earth. Others may have been born before her, but Apocalypse was definitely born after her. She was born 17000 years ago... its in the opening pages of Necrosha... En Sabah Nur is only around 4-5000 years old...

When was it stated for the fist time that Selene us 17000 years old?

Anyway, that makes her the first known mutant, Nur is the second I guess, but what with the other Externals?

They need to bring back Apocalypse and make him interact with Selene ASAP.

Before Necrosha I would've said Apocalypse, but now it's Selene.

I mean, we still have Genesis and the Apocalypse twins. I think Genesis is the new Apocalypse but he is struggling with whether to be a superhero or not. So maybe Selene can interact with him.After all, she was recently resurrected.

C'mon man. The guy that said how old she is mentioned where you can read this yourself in both of his posts.

Even before Necrosha Marvel already hinted that she was an old enemy of Kulan Gath who was around during the Hyborean age well before 5000 years ago. I've always been under the impression that she was older than him by far.

I wondered about this too. I THINK It's Apocalypse, Selene, then Namor.

I love Selene. Either way I like to consider them the Ancients like in Queen of the Damned.

First mutant on panel was Namor. The beautiful, spectacular, splendiferous Selene is the first, true mutant.

does it matter if there was? even if it's a retcon, and its not really... Necrosha made it indisputable fact.
