The most powerful mutant
Franky, though I'm surprised Nate Gray/X-man isn't on the list. BTW can someone explain Phoenix? Is that jean before she was possessed? I know there's dark phoenix, is that her possessed? Is she ever not being taken over? Is she ever just a mutant without the Phoenix Force. Actually on that note, is Franklin considered pure mutant, since his parents were mutates?
@dayvid3: 1) I dont know what they mean u cant use jean w/phoenix because she has the phoenix. 2) Dark Phoenix is when the Phoenix goes into rage an getting out of control not really Jean being possessed. 3) She didnt always have the Phoenix at some points she has little power from the Phoenix other times none an other the.full power. 4) Jean is always mutant an Sue an Reed are not mutants there superhuman like Cap, Black Panther, Ms.Marvel Avengers in general
@magnificentstorm: Thanks MS, #2 I get. #1 I wasn't even sure I said, but I was hinting at it. If your question was about mutant strength, her channeling some primal universal force seems a bit of a cheat, #3 I'd be curious to know what her un-phoenix tweaked power level would be, #4 I know his parent's aren't mutants, so my question was does that have any bearing on what he's considered? Is he a mutant cause he's the son of mutaTes (not mutaNts), or is he just randomly born a mutant. Or maybe second generation who cares? Just curious is all
My vote goes to Phoenix.
The Phoenix (Force) is not a mutant.
Iceman for the win... anybody been reading Astonishing lately!?
And if you are not reading Astonishing shame on you!!!
- Franklin Richards
- Proteus
- Phoenix
Yep Richards and Proteus.
My vote goes to Phoenix.
Which one, Rachel Summers?

I have. The current arc is great; definitely one of my two favorite X-books right now.
This question needs clarification on Phoenix: Jean Grey, Rachel Summers, or cosmic force?
Also, power set which Legion has em all beat with number of powers. His full power set makes him god level. Franklin created an entire sub or secondary universe at the height of his abilities.
If it is power and ability to control it, then Jean Grey and Legion are out on this one. Each eventually loses control of the power they weild.
Well if we want to be technical the most powerful mutant right now is Hope, she can copy powers, copy more than one power at a time, and use the power to its fullest potential. i still wonder if she can do only mutants or can she copy powers from mutates like spider-man mr fantastic

Just Mutants, in one of the AVX comics, i thin it was part 0 she fought the serpant society and could only duplicate the one who was a mutant. Also her range has varied, at one point i think i read she could copy any mutant alive regardless of where they were located, others they had to be fairly close to her, and the Fear itself story they got on the near side of Utopia so she would be able to copy all of their powers to fight Juggernaut
@mcklayn: true but what about the dragon fire she copied from...the dragon when scott attacked k'un lun? i think her range is much greater now since she copied two mutant's in jail and retained their powers all the way to a bus station in cable and x-force to get away from the uncanny avengers
