There's some fantastic animated shows on nowadays, but few can top the feeling of nostalgia the classics give you. Alright, so most of them don't hold up all that well, but that rarely stops you from loving them any less or filling you with joy when you hear that catchy theme song play.

Well, Kyle Roberts has gone above and beyond enjoying the classic intros -- he's created stop motion videos for them! He previously made one for the '87 TMNT cartoon, and now he's blessed the internet with this gem for X-Men fans.

Enjoy, Viners.

Now for the really tough question... which '90s animated series did you like more, X-Men or Spider-Man?

LOL. I was actually thinking about watching some of the old 90s Marvel cartoons today. But, the funny thing is, I didn't even really like any of them, I was just feeling nostalgic. Actually, when I was a kid, I was big into watching Superman TAS, Justice League, and the DCAU, but for some reason, the Marvel cartoons of the 90s didn't really grab me.

Anyone else used to get those action figures that came with a comic? I think that's why I enjoy comics now. I used to have the Galactus figure D:<

Mystique & Nightcrawler?  - I don't remember that
they changed some characters  for the x-men/enemies clash,
still it was good,

I was waiting for Rogue to blow a kiss to the camera, don't know why

Out of the two, Spider-Man...but the best of the '90s by far was Batman the Animated Series... but Spider-Man and X-Men were pretty great too...

When i bought the DVD set a couple years ago, the show blew me away, again, with how well it still holds up, and it brought back all kinds of nostalgia from my childhood. The '90s X-Men series had to be one of the most complicated, dramatic and violent ongoing cartoons ever made for kids. I dont know how i was able to follow it. I finished re-watching it about 4 months ago.

Shenanigans!!!! That video tape was for the 80s Pryde of the X-men, not the 90s animated series! It's all ruined!!!

#24 Posted by x_29 (2261 posts) - 6 months, 8 hours ago - Show Bio

Robot Chicken did it better ( animation wise).

#25 Posted by Mandrewgora (241 posts) - 6 months, 7 hours ago - Show Bio

grew up with that x-men.

Holy crap that is awesome-tastic! I have seen some good stop motion but that is impressive!

My favorite Stop-Motions are probably these Halo ones made by this guy.

Anyways, for the question I have to say it is too close to call. While X-Men was more expanded and had a far greater roster of interesting characters, Spider-Man's series was a it more personal and had better guest appearances (Daredevil, Wolverine, etc.)

Still want of the best openings ever, loved the 90's animated series!

This is so good reminds me of my child hood in the 90s waking up watching good saturday morning cartoons in my pjs eating good sugary cereal that wasn't whole wheat or healthy. I miss that

#30 Posted by blindisaac (89 posts) - 6 months, 6 hours ago - Show Bio

They should do a version with the awesome song from the Japanese opening.

#31 Posted by evilvegeta74 (3562 posts) - 6 months, 4 hours ago - Show Bio

I realize this was the intro to the Xmen for many, but this was the worst xmen show ever. It totally deluded Uncanny Xmen stories. Colossus should have been in every episode as well as night crawler, it blowed bad.

That may be the most epic thing I have ever seen

Yes, the Whitney Houston Rip off music. R.I.P Whitney Houston. 'Be my baby tonight.' That's the song.

Maybe this show is why the X-Men is the best comic ever invented by man. Y'all heard.

Coolest thing I've seen all day!!! ......And I want that TV.

#36 Posted by sentryman555 (425 posts) - 6 months, 1 hour ago - Show Bio

I always thought the coolest episodes were the crossovers between the shows! Like when spidey had to create his own team of superheroes to fight the beyonder. When I think about it Marvel has been doing crossovers forever lol

My thoughts exactly.

#38 Posted by Miss_Garrick (1441 posts) - 5 months, 30 days ago - Show Bio

The X-Men is the GREATEST comic superhero animated show EVER!!! I measure every superhero cartoon made since then to their standard in terms and clever plot, animation quality, and professional voice acting.

I could not stand the Spider-Man show. The coloring was so tacky and the animation would keep replaying scenes in slowmotion for no apparent reason. It was so STUPID!! I'll give them this though, they would get the coolest people to do guest voices on the show. So, 2 out of 10 overall.

I actually stumbled accross this randomly too last night, its really well done! As for which one i preferred? X-Men, i liked Spiderman but was never massively into it the way i was with X-Men.
