If Cyclops does what it looks like he did then there better have been a good reason i.e. Emma is killed otherwise this is just more of a reason for the anti-cyclops crowd to justify their hate.
Even though this event has been pretty lackluster and character destroying i'm actually looking forward to the ending. I just hope it won't disappoint like the issues before it.
@Osian2: Dawg, you really expect the writers and editors to give a shit about details. This is how you are suppose to do it, Hell they probably don't even remember Cable is even in the present.

That's look's like Cyclops attacking Charles. Cyclops becoming the main Phoenix host. No wonder why there be Dark X-Men, when Jean Grey comes back. Looks like the X-Men will turn against the Cyclops.
Oh for... Damn you Marvel. I was just thinking about how good Hickman on the Avengers is and then I see this. Why'd you have to ruin my perception of you Marvel?
I was thinking about dropping most if not all of my Marvel books prior to AvX because I thought the line had gone flat, but now I'm probably going to drop them because Marvel has screwed with the books I read. Marvel Now! hasn't grabbed my interest either.

What a disgusting event AvX has become.
I'm actually struggling to remember when a character who was in the spotlight during an event, came out of it as a greater hero. They all seem to die or are villified lol.
I will say this its terrible and down right DISRESPECTFUL (C) Stephen A Smith. to any fan of comics who gives a shit about continuity, and characters actually being in CHARACTER.
Ever since Marvel released that Fear Itself teaser with Cyclops wearing Magneto's costume, I knew he'd do something like this at some point. Marvel turning him militaristic over the years should have prepared you guys for a moment like this.
Professor X dying doesn't surprise me either. He hasn't been relevant in a while. Ever since Cyclops took over, he's been twiddling his thumbs on the side line while having sparse appearances here and there.
And don't be surprised If Marvel pulls a " LOL we got you! " move and brings him back to life at the end. It fits right into the whole death and rebirth aspect that is attached to the Phoenix in mythology.
More spoilers for you, the person who Cap is talking to is Hulk and he agrees to fight.
This is the best example of why Cyclops fans don't like how he's being treated in AVX. Look at what Cap says "We've been at war with Scott Summers", "Everyone seems to know it but Scott Summers". What so Emma isn't a host aswell Steve? Were you not fighting Namor, Magik, Colossus and all the other X-men?

Colossus almost destroys the Jean Grey School
Magik brings a prison from Limbo to earth and tortures the prisoners
Emma kills a man and makes mutants kneel to her through mind control
But the Big Bad Villain is Cyclops!? Hell I'd be fine if Cap said we're at war with the "Phoenix hosts" but no he actually corrects himself and puts the entire blame on Cyclops!
I heard about this. While I still enjoy many Marvel titles(More titles then DC), I agree their events always end up being pretty lame and unoriginal. Everyone already knew who was going to die(Or atleast I did, and it appears so did Newsarama). Luckily I didn't read AVX or any of the tie-ins(Tie-ins kill books, Avengers Academy dropped significantly in quality during Fear Itself).

After reading the issue I think that this is just s*it!! It's a nonsense comicbook, the battles are stupid, the level of powers not even considered but, most important, NO ONE IS ACTING IN CHARACTER!!
I hate retcons, but they need to retcon the crap out of this!
I Support this message lol this whole event hasn't really shown anyone acting or doing things within character. Also you know hope and the 5 lights got shafted from an event that was suppose to focus on them >_> this is very much the whole serpent event just with less thor

At least HALF of the X-men have already died and come back. Many of them more than once.
How many times did Jean Grey die and come back?
How many times has Charles Xavier died and come back? (At least twice, but I think there's more. The last time he was shot in the head by Bishop... Which sucked because Bishop was a kewl character.)
Cyclops has died at least twice. and come back.
Cable - dead and back
Cannonball, Dani Moonstar, sunspot, karma, magma, wolfsbane, Doug Ramsey, - all dead and back.
Psylocke - Dead and back at least three times.
Wolverine - Dead and back.. GOBS of times.. last time he literally fought his way out of hell?
Rachel - Dead and Back.
Mystique - Currently a bad guy again, but she was an X-man at one point and time. Dead and Back
Angel - Dead and Back
I could go on and on.... But the point is, X-Men do not stay dead... not for long anyways. Jean Grey will eventually be back. Banshee will eventually be back... and whoever dies (if anyone) in this event, will most definitely be back... Remember, In the Marvel Universe, the only one that actually stays dead is Uncle Ben...

@EnSabahNurX: I agree so many key point are being ignored, Rachel, the light and especially Cable. The Avengers should never have been involved in this story from the beginning. Hope, the five lights, the Phoenix, mutant rebirth, every single important plot point came from the X-men. They had to make up a connection between Wandas power and Iron fist to justify the Avengers interference.
Imagine if during Fear Itsef the X-men showed up and defeated all the worthy by themselves and it turned out that Iceman is really a descendant of the Frost Giants.

It' happens in October and November. The past X-Men return. If it turns out that Cyclops kills Charles, that's sucks and why would Magneto stick by Cyclops if he did kill Charles. If Cyclops kills Charles, he needs to die. I hope Magneto beats the crap out of him. Not sure if there dark X-Men but, it doesn't look like Cyclops will be the main leader of the X-Men anymore.
Yes, and Xavier is dead. Emma has been confirmed to live. The issue come in Legacy because Legion was supposed to star with Xavier. My current theory is that Xavier will be one of his personalities after his fathers death.
