I like it a lot actually. Surprising Bendis went with Scott and Emma kissing and not Jean and Scott since he seems to be a huge Jean Grey fan with his opinion on Scott and Emma's relationship and how much focus he gives Jean.

They aren't actually related, though, legally or biologically.

I'm surprisingly on board for Magik and Doug as well myself....(if it was going to be anybody it may as well be the guy who can read her body language before she snaps)

1. in the case of him and Rogue, though, it doesn't seem quite as weird to me. I know lots of people who met when they were in their teens or early 20's, became good friends, and then didn't develop romantic feelings until they were adults. In light of that, the Mystique connection just seems like an inconvenient coincidence.

2. could be trouble for Northstar's marriage, I guess. but then again, not everyone who's married is monogamous. Some of my best friends are married and polyamorous, actually. I don't know what the nature of Northstar's relationship to Kyle is outside of the fact that they're married, so who knows..

3. there's a short list of guys I can actually see Magik being attracted to, but he's definitely on it. Could be a great new direction for both of them, if that's what's going on..

So much Lurrrve, so little time...

1- I can accept it. But i can't get behind them, it just seems like the characters haven't shared much other then the Mystique thing to my knowledge. But what's more inconvenient then that would be the fact that what could be at least an interesting development will come off like more X-Men bed hopping... the teams mainstay members as hole are just a little too incestuous(pun)

2- I'd probably prefer if it was an issue within the marriage then for it to be some open marriage thing. Not as much out of dislike of polygamy in marriage as it is thinking this could be seen as a bad PR move for the first gay married couple in X-Men to fulfill the stereotypes of gay guys sleeping around. Then again idk if that would be perceived as a step forward or backwards for homosexual portrayals...

3- I always saw Magik as asexual myself....but Doug i think works for her temperament wise. Smh...now i just want another New Mutants book to test it out, though ANX-Factor would also benefit from just Magik as a guest star.

has Magik ever really had a romantic interest before? I didn't really read to much involving the characters earlier stuff.

I could see Doug working for her though.

1- to me, they're both part of the 80's lineup that made me love the X-men in the first place, which was a pretty tight-knit group, so I see them as having that bond. I'm not saying it doesn't seem kind of random, I'm just saying I could see it being in-character for either of them if it was done right.

2- it really could go either way, right? on the one hand, it's reinforcing what's considered to be a negative stereotype about gay men, but on the other hand, there's nothing inherently negative about being polyamorous either, so showing that it can function in a normal marriage could be a step forward for the way people consider marriage in general. I can see why they wouldn't want to mix the two issues, I guess, but condemning someone for being polyamorous is really just as bad as condemning someone for being gay; either way you're just judging someone for who and how they love other consenting adults.

3- yeah, any of that could be cool..
