I've been folllowing (on and off) the Wolverine & The X-Men side of things, and I did read Schism. I plan to go back and read the Schism stuff again, but once I'm done...where do I go from there? There are as many X-Men titles as there are Batman ones, and I have little to no idea what to follow. Plus, there is more stuff coming later this Summer or something?
I prefer lighter hearted stories, though I don't mind the odd darker story here and there (I do want to follow both Wolverine and Cyclops), if that helps. I don't care for the art nor the writing in Avengers vs X-Men, so I won't be picking that up either. So, what do I read? I don't mind doing some backreading if necessary.
Thanks in advance.
X-Men
Team » X-Men appears in 13419 issues.
The X-Men are a superhero team of mutants founded by Professor Charles Xavier. They are dedicated to helping fellow mutants and sworn to protect a world that fears and hates them.
So I want to read some X-Men
Rogue was the lead of X-Men Legacy for quite a time (not sure if she still is, I hate the current X-Men stuff), so you might want to read the backissues of that.
As is my understanding, Beast spends most of his time with the Secret Avengers.
X-Factor #224.1, Uncanny X-Men #1, Uncanny X-Force #1, X-Men Legacy #264, Wolverine and the X-Men #1. Those are the five worth following.
I'm liking Uncanny X-Men a lot tho I'm not too crazy about the AvX tie-ins. If you're looking to go back I definitely recommend Whedon's Astonishing X-Men run. It's 25 issues and can be collected in two Ultimate Collection TPBs and I swear it might be the best comic book I have ever read! :) Grant Morrison's New X-Men is also supposed to be really good but I haven't read it yet.

New Mutants the rest is infuriating crap IMO
New Mutants? The book's been dire for a year.
I'd go with anything from this:
- Wolverine and The X-Men - Fun and light-hearted with a focus on Wolverine and Beast plus some of the newer characters. I'd start from issue #1 .
- Uncanny X-Force - Dark, but one of the best books Marvel is releasing, IMO. I'd start from issue #1.
- X-Factor - Funny, light-hearted, entertaining and extremely well-written. I'd start from X-Factor #224.1. There's not really a focus on any of the classically main X-characters, though.
- Uncanny X-Men - A-list book with a focus on Cyclops' X-Tinction Team. I'd start from issue #1.
- Gambit's new solo series (from August).

@John Valentine: In your opinion
How can you like the book? The art is currently horrible, the plots are ridiculous and the characterisation is just a massive no.
pretty easy, I pick it up, read it and enjoy it. Job done.@spiderbat87 said:

I suppose if you enjoy reading about characters dating the devil and super-powered rock bands the book's for you.

Sorry, I forgot what a bundle of joy Sentinel attempts at mutant extinction and mutant concentration camps were.
You mean much like the 616? Do you realise you come off sounding like a jackass most of the time?@spiderbat87 said:

It's as bad as 616, if not worse.
Cheers, bro!
