I happened upon an article of Alex Ross' pitch for X-men before they decided to roll with Grant Morrison. Some of these proposed changes were pretty interesting. Give it a peek.

The designs are cool especially Cyclops and Iceman but they look too much like cultists. It would be interesting to see them in an alternate universe like in the new Xtreme X-men.

Marvel are idiots for not getting Ross on board

I would definitely like to see these designs again.

The Wolverine one is kind of ugly, but I can dig the others.

I love the Cyclops design..... so much.

Wow, they're really cool. But I can't see them in the 616 universe, they would fit well in another universe but not in the mainly one.
