*ugh*  The Scooby-Doo voice for Beast ain't happenin', G.   It may have seemed like a funny idea but honestly, it was real annoying.

Storm looks totally out of proportion.  The rest of the art is good but Storm just looks odd.  A bit melodramatic as far as the comic is concerned, but that's X-Memn.

This has definitely become my favourite segment on the site. Did Cyclops have a cold? His nose sounded blocked.

#7 Posted by doordoor123 (3721 posts) - - Show Bio

This comic looks rediculous. I dont understand. So this doesnt tie into 616? What is this really about?
probably yet another lame interpretation of the x-men.

woah that was mind-blowing, I'm really out of the loop. I didn't know they had officially confirmed Emma's accent as being fake O_0 when was this?

#9 Edited by Queen's Halo (2431 posts) - - Show Bio

Emma's voice was perfect. That how I hear it in my head. Way to go! Also, those hips are too big.

Im diggin more of this, I want more. Use the anime vice or giant bomb guys to make diferent voices

#11 Posted by MSBoyd23 (112 posts) - - Show Bio

Cyclops looks like the Black Lantern version of Buzz Lightyear on the cover.

The voice acting was great!, I'm not too interested in this series...is it cannon?

#14 Posted by Zombielunch (42 posts) - - Show Bio

this strikes me as being really, really bad

the book, not the preview.

#15 Posted by Joe Venom (1275 posts) - - Show Bio

Great preview! still not buying it unless something major happens, even then I'll just wait for the trade...

#16 Posted by 00 Raiser (442 posts) - - Show Bio

This is what I have been waiting for! When is the first issue suppose to be released. PLEASE TELL ME ITS TOMORROW!!!!

#17 Posted by goldenkey (2927 posts) - - Show Bio

THE VOICES THE VOICES.  Babs didn't sound like she was having as much fun with this as you did G-Man.  Then again I only made it a third of the way thru.  People love it tho, you're doing something right.
#18 Posted by sora_thekey (8175 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm sorry G but for this one I must give props to Babs... You should be a voice actress!

I must say that the Scooby voice on Hank is not appealing, yet the rest of him isn't either so, it somewhat fits...
Cyclops' nasal voice is how I thought he should've sounded in X-Men Misfits
Wolverine's voice was spot on!

but of course the award goes for Babs and her Emma's fake accent voice!

Have you guys thought of maybe using the other people in the office for the rest of the voices? That would be pretty awesome!

The art looks sooooo bad. Look in 00:50 seconds. Look at the face of that girl on the left. *VOMIT!*

#20 Posted by StormPanther (12 posts) - - Show Bio

continuity out the window...but at least it looks good.

#21 Posted by Aspenite (892 posts) - - Show Bio

You did a great job with the voices. Really cool!

#22 Posted by Caligula (12417 posts) - - Show Bio

X-Men = Lame

#23 Posted by HaHaManHV (234 posts) - - Show Bio

Seriously, the Scooby-Doo voice made me just outright stop watching this the second I heard it. Like seriously, that was so lame.

#24 Posted by Green ankh (998 posts) - - Show Bio

You guys crack me up.
#25 Posted by Beast_in_the_Shadows (430 posts) - - Show Bio

The art in this is horendous.  Beast looks worse than he has in ages,  emma and storm look like some  repressed 11-year-old's fantasy and hisaku looks like she 8.

Why revamp the book just to screw it up worse than it already was?

#26 Posted by the_fallen11 (636 posts) - - Show Bio

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the end of the astonishing x-men series.

#27 Edited by Branagin77 (70 posts) - - Show Bio

OMG....

What is Cyclops a freaky Geeekkk? If Cyclops talked like that Jean would of killed herself or smacked him really hard and ran the other way. They all sound like retards, except for the women voices, those all sound like Babs. She's got better voice acting skills though. Sorry Tony, but stick to the 3 minute expert. You rock on those.

But at least you're having fun.

#28 Posted by whacknasty (5617 posts) - - Show Bio

Lol. I think that was awesome, great work!  I like the artwork a lot as well, though Storm walking around in a towel and Emma in her...um...bustier, makes me think of some weird bath house scene... : )

#29 Posted by G-Man (34491 posts) - - Show Bio

Wooo! Glad everyone dug the Scooby-Doo. Believe me, it was more interesting than the first take I did for Beast. If anyone's wondering why it went this way...it just happened when I turned on the camera.

As far as continuity:

“Each Astonishing series works as a stand alone series, set firmly in the Marvel Universe and providing the perfect starting point for all readers, new or old,” continues Marvel’s description.

“The Ultimate line has firmly established its own continuity, timeline, and Universe. With Astonishing X-Men: Xenogenesis, Astonishing Spider-Man/Wolverine and the other titles coming down the road, like Joss & John’s Astonishing X-Men established, are firmly in current continuity and greatly impact the involved characters.”

why couldn't they just finish his last arc.  When will we find out why there was a celestial standing over the blood samples.
#31 Posted by FoxxFireArt (3555 posts) - - Show Bio

About five minutes had to pass for me to calm down from the laughter of you voicing Beast like Scooby Doo. LOL

Oh DAMN, Scott. You really called Emma on her accent?!

I know Emma prefers wearing white, but she's smart enough to know an investigation requires being subtle. Also, is the "stripper" length of the hem on her dress, with her panties showing, 100% necessary? If she was going to a club I would understand, but she's going to Africa. I would think breathable fibers would be a better choice.

#32 Posted by PrinceIMC (5422 posts) - - Show Bio

Don't listen to the nay-sayers. Beast's voice was great.

#33 Posted by BKole (501 posts) - - Show Bio

As far as I am concerned, Warren Ellis can do no wrong. He always writes extremely engaging dialogue and interesting plots. I am not sure if Astonishing is in continuity anymore, but who the heck cares, it's better than Forever if Ellis is on it.

rrrrrrrrrrrr?

#36 Posted by jordama (4225 posts) - - Show Bio

You guys did great, but the comic itself seems really stupid
#37 Posted by couzinit99 (169 posts) - - Show Bio

wow i hate this artwork and i hate those costumes. . . tear

#39 Posted by Pez85 (205 posts) - - Show Bio

Scooby-Beast made my day. That was great. While I'm not really looking forward to the comic itself, the preview theatre made me want to pick it up and give it a shot.

#40 Posted by strangeling (180 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm really not sure about this book.

I didn't mind the voice for Beast.
But, that's not how I "hear" him, and if he really talked like that, it would probably be written like that.  Just saying.

#41 Posted by pixelized (62882 posts) - - Show Bio

I liked it until I heard Emma's dialogue,

"If you were sleeping with the leader of the pack..."

Really?

the art bothers me. Especially Emma.

#43 Posted by MadClawMannn (52 posts) - - Show Bio

Beast don't talk like that. C'mon, G-Man, you know Beast a smart guy. Babs, great as always.

#44 Posted by G-Man (34491 posts) - - Show Bio
@madclawmannn:
Beast's original "voice" was smart sounding. Problem was it sounded too close to my voice for Storm, as I see her as smart sounding as well.

That's exactly what I thought when I had to read it. Terrible.

I felt that way too. And what about Hisako? She looks like a 10 year-old...

I love the special effects :P
