We have mutants with cool powers, mutants with strange powers, even mutants with powers that are more like curses... but before the decimation, could you honestly tell me that all mutants around the globe can lift cars, read minds, or blast holes in walls? What if mutants had powers that were so mundane that they wouldn't even know it if they had them? Like someone's physical abilities are greater than that of someone the same height and build... by like 2%? Or what if your power is a super liver that makes it so you can get buzzed but never drunk? Maybe you emit a harmless invisible radiation from your eyes?

Or alternatively, what if you have a power that you will probably never discover that you have because it's so unconventional?

I watched the movie Hanna thinking she was supposed to be a super soldier or something along those lines. While she was enhanced it was to a pretty minor degree; she was basically just a 16 year old girl with the physical strength of an adult man.

Just something that came to mind when I read the OP.

What if your power was to have a telepathic link to a specific animal, but your animal was lame, like a goldfish or something?? Kinda like Gert in the Runaways (even though it technically wasnt her 'power', but more like Old Lace being genetically modified or something..)

It's kind of a moot point since "House of M", but there have been several stories that depicted mutants with less than spectacular powers. I remember one whose mutant ability was to change the color of any object by coming into contact with it. There was also an old Daredevil story, guest starring Wolverine( of course), that followed the heroes on the trail of a serial killer who specifically targeted  mutants that were, essentially, prodigies. One's mutant power was that they were an incredible dancer. Another's power made them a piano virtuoso. Pre-"M" Day, there were probably hundreds of mutants whose powers simply made them great athletes or brilliant scientists. They're never going to be the focus of many stories, though, since they're not getting into fist fights, every day, while wearing clown costumes. They were just living their lives, possibly not even knowing that they're  mutants, perhaps even harboring hatred, or fear, of mutantkind. I'm sure they're all gone now. Only the super cool mutants, who'd been around for years, got to keep their powers.

I don't think you would notice Wolverine's powers if he didn't get hurt so much.

Forge's power is not noticeable to anyone else. He just seems like a tech-head to the passer-by. 

Michael Pointer didn't know he was a mutant because he had never been around mutant energy to absorb it before.

Hey that's actually a useful power!!! Not saving the world kinda power more like saving entertainment one blink at a time!!!

Most of the mutant in District X had useless powers.

Yeah, she just looked like a fragile, old, little girl.

I always that Maggott was pretty useless or Beak for that matter. I am still on the fence about sammy (the fish kid) as well.

Yeah she had super strength but wasn't extremely strong I think her max strength was like 10 tons, which is usefully but she wasn't a powerhouse. she was suffering from Progeria making her appear old on frail even though she was only like 11 or 12

The op is about useless powers, Dazzler uses turning sound into light to take down all kinds of enemies. Photon blasts, lasers, energy swords, holograms and her signature move actually overloading someone's brain through their optic nerves with light essentially 'dazzling' them.

The only time that went to any use was when Jessica Drew was introduced (I think), which is funny considering how she was never affiliated with the X-men. At all.

Really? I completely disagree. When Jubilee comes up against a villain with ADD (aka Shiny Object Syndrome), her powers will finally be useful!
