Take any two mutants in the X-universe, give them a romantic romp and nine or so months later, make a love child. Include their: parents, personal info, mutant ability etc.

The trick to this is taking attributes from the parent mutants, blending them with something new for a unique but identifiable mutant. (See mutant offspring thread for popular opinion)

Let's get crackin.

Think Tank:"TM"©

Cassandra Bishop

Father: Bishop, Mother: Sage

Powers: A powerhouse fueled by information absorbed through empathy, psychometry, and the base five senses. Capable of internalizing the information from her individual senses to fuel her enormous strength and durability: As complicated as her mutation seems it is essentially ‘knowledge is power.’ The greater the yield of information the greater the strength the more diverse the information the greater the invulnerability. The senses she most commonly utilizes to fuel her physical dynamism are psionic. These are preferred because of their great sensitivity and are inessential for normal function. She will utilize her base five senses in an environment where they are stimulated to overloading i.e. a lecture on geo-political governments or rock concert.

Story: Bishop and Sage found a harmony within each other and came to the realization that their synergy made them exponentially more effective to champion the mutant cause. Like a legal version of Bonnie and Clyde they set off doing posthuman detective work. Pursuing a different but necessary avenue of X-men work they took sabbatical from the core team and became their own sub unit. On a stakeout in the Carribean the full moon and island rhythms were too overwhelming and nine months later Cassandra was born.

Surprisingly these two no nonsense X-Men took three years off to focus on Cassandra. It wasn’t until her ninth birthday that she was aware of her parents role in the x-men or the plight of mutants, she just thought they were mutants trying (unsuccessfully) to blend in. After her thirteenth birthday she was allowed to attend Xavier’s institute on the onset of her mutant blossoming. After numerous courses, countless hours in the danger room, pulling all-nighters, fieldtrips, and extracurricular fieldtrips with Dad Wolverine and Gambit. Cassandra graduated with advanced proficiency’s in game theory, chromatic expression, and enigmas. With an adept command of her mutation a penchant for super-sleuthing and a flair for combat she was inducted into the X-Men under her self proclaimed (but headmaster approved) handle; Think Tank.

Design notes; 5’8’’ 140lbs athletic yet curvy, black mid back length ponytail with metal-ball. Coa-coa skin, asiatic features. Cyberjack glasses blue with frosted silver lenses. Full body suit white, muted blue and silver

Pinstripes in cascading pattern down front, red white striped handkerchief around neck. White gel heeled boots, white x belt buckle."TM"©

Here's my contribution to the next generation of quality mutants.

Name: I don't do names. Mood Ring maybe? That already sounds bad.

Parents: Moonstar and Mystique (after turning into a guy)

She inherited from Moonstar the ability to know the strongest feelings or thoughts of anyone near her, but she didn't get any control over this ability. She also got Mystique's shape shifting, but no control of that either. The result of this is that she unconsciously morphs into whatever is most dominant on a person's mind at the time if it's something that she can look like (so usually not abstract concepts unless they're related to something she can become). If a person she's fighting with is thinking about an enemy in battle, she will look like the enemy. If someone is thinking about their future, she'll become what they'd look like in the future they're thinking about. If someone is thinking about their death, she might become the grim reaper or maybe just a zombified version of the person. If there is more than one person around she morphs into the strongest of all the thoughts, but maybe with parts of other ones in there too. She can also turn into her own thoughts, but only if they are stronger than the thoughts of others around her. If the physical form she takes has powers she can use them, similar to how Mystique's powers worked.

Psychological profile: Mood Ring has a ton of emotional problems. Her image fluctuates so much that she doesn't even know what she really looks like anymore, and since her image is totally dependent on others or the situation, she is very needy and insecure.

There is a character in the initiative called Trauma with similar powers as Mood Ring but I doubt he'll have as fresh an origin story.

DAMMIT! Totally forgot about Trauma. I only read that like what, a week ago? I shoulda remembered that there was already someone like this. The only character like this that I could think of was Polymorpha: http://www.comicvine.com/polymorpha/42153/ She's basically a shape shifter that picks a different form on every panel and for every person that sees her. It's not regulated by random thoughts, just by her own choice. Trauma could be a real cool character if they let him. Hopefully he'll get a chance.

Doesn't matter that Trauma and Mood Ring have the same ability because it wasn't plagirism. It was fueled by your creativity. There are so many characters it is almows impossible to make a concept totally new that is also appealing. Like i said before you nailed it. It's evident in how you methodically and thoroughly explained the different details that are Mood Ring the Mercurial.

Name: Headache (work in progress, can anyone think of anything better?).

Nickname: The son of a motor-mouth and a loud-mouth.

Father: Deadpool.

Mother: Siryn.

Powers:

Headache is capable of reconstituting his body if damaged or destroyed by transmuting sound into matter, and he possesses the ability to transmute his body into sound and reconstitute it over great distances. He also has a latent ability to amplify ambient sound waves for devastating effects.

Due to the nature of his powers, he has learned to shoot off at the mouth like his father (and mother, ironically), especially when sound in his surrounding environment isn't very abundant.

That's great! There's actually a reason for him to blab as much as Deadpool does, and he's got his own teleporter. Real cool idea.

Maybe "Migraine" for a name. You could even stick a "y" in there somewhere to make it like Siryn.

Kinda working off Buckshot's idea here:

Name: Calvin Rankin Jr.

Nickname: Mystake

Father: Mimic

Mother: Mystique

Powers:

Mystake has all the powers of of his father, the ability to Mimic the mutants/super humans he comes in close proximity with. He also undergoes a forced shape shift, essentially becoming a close of the person he mimics.

At first, this was not a problem, but unfortunately he also inherited the mental instability from which him mother sometimes suffers. It eventually becomes so bad that Mystake actually believes he IS the person he is mimicking, and goes on a rampage to destroy those people. It all falls apart when he is attacked by Rogue, he begins to mimic her absorbing power, but without the need to be in skin-to-skin contact with the victim. In the ensuing battle, he sucks all the X-Men dry, then explodes from his inability to contain all the conflicting powers and personalities now living within him.

I think I could do better, but it's lunchtime.

I've got one but I have to go. Prurience, did you just kill yours just as he came into existence? I liked his personality, the whole "I'm the original" thing is good. Sounds like Mauler from Invincible but so much better (or worse from his view I guess) because he'd be like that with everyone.

Name: Jean-X

Parents: Charles Xavier and Emma Frost

Powers: Jean-X is the most powerful mutant in history. His power is so great that it is killing him slowly, the more he uses his power the quiker he dies. He can control everything, reality, thoughts, sub-consious thoughts, and dreams. The full potential of his powers will never be reached though for his fate is sealed.

After his death, Mr. Sinister will steal DNA from his body in hopes of creating the perfect mutant.

Genius! Thats what I'm talking about DP. Incorporating story elements to enrich the character. Personally I like Head ache as a name

#18 Posted by Sling Shot (3560 posts) - - Show Bio

The idea is to take elements of the powers of the progeny. Not to couple the whole abilities together and not to mimic one parents ability exactly. Cable is a telepath and TK user because of Jean Grey (or her clone). He is Marvel Girl, but stronger, if not for the Techno virus. Cable is not a good example of a love child. His abilities are boring and redundant (see Marvel Girl). The character of Cable and his dilemma with the Technovirus redeem him quite a bit but he could be more unique IMO if his power were a hybrid of his parents.

It seems to be the trend to make the offspring more godlike. Let us not succumb to that inclination on this thread. If we do fall victim than let us remember with great power comes great responsibility to write an off the hook backstory. Peace up.

Ok, I have 2.

Name: The Fittest

Parents: Madrox & Life Guard

Story: No great story, this one's all about the powers. One of Madrox's many clones met Life Guard and they hooked up one night. Fluids were passed and a baby girl was born.

Powers: Whenever she is in danger or receives a certain amount of kinetic energy, clones of herself sprout off like Madrox's dupes. Unlike those dupes, each copy of the girl has a different adaptation for the current situation. After the danger is gone, a chemical trigger in the dupes (and original) drives them to fight each other. While the chemical is flowing through her body, she can't create new dupes, so when they fight no more versions of her are created. When there is only one left, that one becomes The Fittest and maintains whatever adaptation it had been created with while all others are lost. Basically she is an entire race in one person, ever evolving at a superfast rate.

Name: Tag Team (?)

Parents: Typhoid Mary & MYSTERY SPERM(!)

Story: After nine months as Typhoid and sometimes Bloody Mary (her crazier personalities) Mary Walker woke up pregnant. She didn't know where the baby came from, but she had one. She woke up just in time to give birth and abandon the baby at a hospital. The child, a cute baby boy named Max was put up for adoption and was taken in by a nice couple. When Max developed an imaginary friend named Buddy, his parents weren't alarmed. However, strange things started to happen around Max, like floating chairs and other horror movie type things. Max blamed it on his imaginary friend but his parents thought it was him. They didn't know what to do though, so they just made him hide it. When Max got a little older, "Buddy" began to do more than just move things. He started wandering far from Max and coming back with stories of what he'd seen. Max kept this a secret from his parents, but someone else knew. Professor X picked up the boys power signature with cerebro and visited his parents, convincing them to let him take the child. At the school, Xavier told Max what he was. He was a mutant, and one with powerful telekinetic abilities as well as clairvoyance. What's more, Max was crazy (thanks to his mom) and his "imaginary friend" was nothing more than a split personality that had control of his powers but not his body. When his powers had developed, his split personality, "Buddy" had been born to take command of his powers. The only thing Xavier didn't know was where he had gotten his psychic powers from. A DNA test at the school revealed his father to be none other than Cable. Apparently Typhoid Mary had somehow gotten a "donation" and been impregnated. Max was part of the legendary Summers clan!

Personalities: Max is a nice, easygoing and gifted young man. He likes the normal teen stuff and even with his weird life always has a optimistic view of things.

Buddy is a prankster and a rebel. The only person he listens to is Max, but everyone else is fair game. He's nowhere near as crazy as Typhoid Mary's personalities, but he is a little out there. He may seem childish, but he's actually very mature, he just hides it well. He's also very protective of Max and will use their powers to aid Max even if not asked to. Both he and Max understand that technically Max is insane and he doesn't exist, but they just refuse to accept it.

Powers: All of Max's powers express themselves through Buddy. Max himself has no powers. Buddy can manifest tremendous power, including upwards of class 50 "strength" (telekinesis), the ability to take any form of almost any size or dimension Max wants (more telekinesis), and the ability to travel around independent of Max and tell him what he sees (clairvoyance). Xavier has hinted that Buddy is really a limitation, and that Max could be far greater if he were to finally accept his friend's nonexistence, but for now that seems unlikely to happen.

The idea for this one actually came from the last page of one of my favorite X-Men trades (Day of the Atom).

The "imaginary friend" is actually another telepath (Cassandra Nova I think) talking to Carter.

I also once read something on another forum where a guy was suggesting character ideas and he said he wanted to see someone with an imaginary friend that could actually influence reality.

Name: Lasceration

Father: Taskmaster

Mother: Lady Deathstrike.

Origin: After a Mercenary and Bounty Hunters Expo two aquiantances get to talking and drinking. One thing leads to another and nine monthes later Lady Deathstrike gives birth to a new child, Uryu Oyama. At an early age Uryu showed that he favored his mothers power and didn't seem to stray too much from her as far as genetics go. Uryu has hightened speed and super strength like his mother, yet he refused to accept any implants, feeling that they would take away from his connection to humanity.

However when Uryu was sent out on a mission to attack and kill an old friend of some man his mother obsessed over Uryu found out he was not just like his mother. After attempting to kill the young ninja woman Uryu discovers that he could also heal himself when wounded as well as learn new tricks rather quickly.

After just seeing the woman his mother had sent him to kill use a few rather advance movements and attacks on himself Uryu realized he could do those same attacks. Uryu begins combining attacks that he already knew and ones he watched the young woman do to drive back the more experienced warrior. Uryu tried to draw more and more of the woman's abilities out of her as they fought, picking up several imressive years of fighting experience in under an hour.

Once the woman finally realizes she is fighting a mutant who can mimic and memorize other's just by sight she decides she must flee. Uryu feels kind of disappointed in the lose of someone who could teach him so much and decides he needs to find someone who can teach him even more. Uryu confronts his mother on his new abilities and she decides to tell him about his father the mutant Taskmaster.

With twin kodachi swords in hand Uryu sets off for fathers house.

Abilities: Like I mentionedLaceration has the ability to heal himself, as well as posing hightened speed and super strength. Uryu turned down having the modified robotic hands and opted for Kodachi short swords as a weapon. Uryu also has the ability to see, copy, and permenantly utilize any attack he sees. With this last power Uryu is like his father in that he is a master warrior, armed and unarmed, a crack shot, and can copy other's voices and behavior after just a little time observing or practicing.

Thank you very much.

Headache's Costume:

Headache wears a gray bodysuit, as well as a gray mask with dark green ovals around the eyes. He wears gray gloves, and gray boots with dark green on the bottoms, a dark green belt with pouches, and a custom-made dark green vest.

The vest has two gun holsters on the sides for handguns, a sheath over the right breast for a survival knife, two sheaths on the upper-back for short swords, and pouches beneath the gun holsters to carry up to eight ammo clips (four under each gun).

He also frequently wears a silver Ipod and silver headphones around his neck. He considers them his "first-aid kit."

Handle:December"TM"©

Name:Sacha Nicholaveitch

Father:Collosus

Mother: Shadow Cat

During their stint on the Breakworld Collossus and Shadow Cat decide to consumate their love by exchanging vows under the Break World's three moons. After the whole Break prophecy, the newly weds return to Westchester with evidence of their honeymoon in Shadowcat's womb.Years pass and the child grows to be a playful bouncing boy. "TM"©

On a family outing Young Sachsa is chasing a butterfly and as he reaches for it his hand makes contact then passes through the butterfly leaving the butterfly to fall like stone to the grass below. Sachsa felt a tingle shoot from his hand and warm his body briefly. He realized he may have killed the butterfly and was mortified at the accidental extermination. But the butterfly wasn't dead just temporarily sapped of energy and sent into immediate torpor(hibernation). Sachsa decided to wait on informing his parents and experiment on 'ghosting' through inanimate objects strictly. He found that he felt that same tingle he experienced with the butterfly except he also felt an abundance of energy. He discovered limitations as well. Ghosting with out a subject or object to pass through expended his own energy reserves leaving him weak and could possibly kill him.

Confident enough to share his discovery with his parents, and even sharing about the butterfly incident,he was subjected to battery of tests and tutelage at the mutant academy was underway."TM"©

From further experimentation Sachsa realized that the tingle he felt was him siphoning upon, later discovered, atomic connections of the matter he passed through imbuing him with superhumanly increased strength, speed, durability and stamina. He also discovered he can shunt the stored energy into an object of his choosing thereby increasing its density. Because his ghosting leaves a cold vacuum from him absorbing ambient energy he was given the name December."TM"©

Powers: December is capable of translating his physical form into an energy nexus/siphon state. While in this form he can phase through organic and inorganic matter robbing them of their ambient and even atomic radiance. The robbed energies works as a temporary superfood that augments December's base strength, speed, durability and stamina into the realm of metahuman. He has to date attained up to two tons in strength, fifty miles an hour, durable enough to only flinch at small calibre fire, and maintain peak activity for four hours straight.Depending upon the energy absorbed/ to work ratio the duration of his augmented state fluctuates. Robbing objects and entities of their ambient and atomic energies can result in structural integrity collapse for inanimates and death for animates if he maintains contact. If December ghosts enogh energy he can forego physical augmentation and redistribute the energy into objects within his grasp. He is to nervous to try to 'reinforce' living things. The levels of density has imbued have reached up to steel, but it is postulated he could reach near adamantium level. The reinforcement effect is temporary. Ghosting through certain wavelengths of energy also tire him because of frequency clash.

If he activates his ghost state without proper amounts of energy available he cold harm

himself."TM"©

Appearance: Sacsha is 15 years old, 5'11, 160Lbs. long build. Chestnut brown hair and blue eyes

While 'ghosting' he emanates a neon green glow."TM"©

Personality: Sacha is very reflective and observant like his father but assertive like his mother. And because he's a teenager he can be to assertive to the point that he seems flippant."TM"©

I don't know if this is stepping on the toes of other characters of messing up the powers of their parents, but here is my attempt.

Name: Omnimorph(meh I know)

Parents: Jean Grey - Morph(Kevin Sydney)

Origin: While playing a joke on Jean Morph tries to trick her into thinking he was actually Cyclops. She is very much aware of the clever ruse but plays along and a strange turn of events makes the evening become romantic. Jean becomes pregnant with their bastard love child and she is forced to go into temporary hiding to give birth the child and Morph will act as the father and keep the origin secret as to not mess everything up.

Unlike the rest of the Summers Omnimorph does not appear to an omega level mutant. He displays almost no telepathic or telekinetic powers like his half brothers. Although his ability to mimic is beyond his father's in every aspect. Able to morph into inanamit objects for what seems to be unending periods of time. As displayed by the time he turning into a brick and was placed into a house and sat their for a couple of weeks before leaving and returning to his "normal" life.

He does not seem to have a central nervous system to it is hard for telepaths to attack him. Also it is confusing as to how to injure him. When a limb is cut off it can be be re-morphed.

As he develops he begins to find new levels of his power. He can morph into other mutants and mimic their powers to some degree. IE turn into wolverine and have bone claws and a much slower healing factor and can lift much less than him. When he mimics another person he almost undetectable by telepaths. This may be to the fact that he has latent telepathic powers that were never brought to the front because he was raised by morph who would not be able to help him with that.

Morph is deeply loyal to his father and hides a lot of personal pain from not knowing his own mother. He can make jokes like his father but has a very serious edge to him when he thinks his family is being threatened.

Cool thread idea...I will return to it again in the morning.

Grym: daughter of Mystique and Destiny.

She can 'become' the future, or at least a symbols related to same: a skeleton, a robot, a clock, an hourglass, etc. She can also accelerate aging by turning strong, new things into old, weak ones.

She is very bitter, pessimistic, and paranoid. She has no hope for the future, but fights for it anyway: she has joined the Brotherhood because "It's something to do while I wait for the world to end".

The child takes a turn for the worse seeing the only out come is to send the child to the future to be raised healthy they send him to grow up there. Being raise by differnet people telling him lies about his father and mother he finds away to go back in time before they have a kid to either stop them or see if he can make sure they can take care him.powers like his father he has armored skin but go nothing of his mother while in the future the people they feed him lies feed him a new power like cyclops his eye shot out a plasma blast but with with a better visor.(i've made it to where he alway hoped it all lies but in a way he hopeing to ake one of them down.)"

i like the idea of having kitty and peter have a child, but the powers are a little strange, for me. i just think their child should be something like the New X-men Student Loa. Objects phase through, but when they do, they disinigrate.

i know this is going to sound stupid, but i really want or wanted our Jean and Scott to have a child. i know they had Nate, Nathan, and Rachel. But they had a child from the main universe Jean and Scott. I wanted them to have a child that involved both his parents powers, not just Jean's. I imagine a kid like Vulcan, someone who can manipulate a varity of energies.

Yeah, I had been looking for the thread when he posted so that made it easier to find. I hadn't noticed that it was in the X-Men forum, coulda saved some time.

sorry. i havent been here for a couple days. i thought your idea was hecka cool. i like the combo of colossus and shadowcats powers. it is very well thought out. the only issue i have with it is the draw back, the thing that if doesnt transfer himself he will die?? i know a character isnt cool without limitations, but it makes him seem like a vampire, which seems strange to me. i like that his powers seem like they can grow and evolve. i also like his alias. i think it would be cool if he can use shadowcat's powers in a nocturne kind of way, and take over peoples bodies. thats just my opinion. nice job though... :)

hehe...it wouldn't be stupid to make up a story on how I'm the parents of two different X-men would it?

okay i know this is going to sound REALLY stupid, so dont make fun of me too much. but i was thinking what if ultimate angel and ultimate dazzler had a baby. i could imagine them having ultimate songbird from thunderbolts. she is basically a combo of these two characters anyways. this would never happen, but i was just thinking....what if?

okay....

Name: Cryo-Wolf

Mother: Wolfsbane

Father: Iceman

Powers: Cryo recieved his ice powers from Iceman, but gained the abilty to control other forms of water in the process. Cryo also recieved his wolf powers from Wolfsbane, but became more attuned with nature somehow, causing him to become a real werewolf. Plus tha addition of a super-sonic howl and communication with animals.

How they met: Iceman and Wolfsbane go on a team mission to Alaska, tacking Sabertooth. When they need to rest for the night, Bobby is perfectly fine in the cold, even in his human form. Rahne is in her human form, and shivering like crazy. Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, and Jean leave to their own tents, closing the tents behind them. However, when Rahne goes into her tent, Bobby follows, feeling a somewhat attraction to her. She was the closest to his age during the mission, and...well...raging hormones. He opened her tent and said,"I can help you keep warm." He didn't say it cheesy, either, but serious and caring. She nodded, but they Bobby only put his arms around her, as they lie in her tent. One thing leads to another, added to Bobby's player like attitude. Bobby's ice form is released as well as Rahne's wolf form during...it, and thus the child(moi) gets their powers, plus a few new ones.

I hope that's not too graphic....I thought it was okay.

the scene is a bit graphic. hahaha. doesnt matter...

but i like the powers. they are interesting. i am just wondering if he needs both powers. in my opinion, maybe they should be combined more. like transforming into a ice-wolf or artic wolf. or maybe in your lupin-form, your sonic power causes things to freeze. or when you claw someone, they turn to ice. i dunno. i just dont like having them completely seperate. it seems more like you just took their powers in a rouge or mimic way. i think x-children should combine the powers so they work off eachother...

I agree. There neeeds to be a method to the madness. Powers like "I have telekinesis and a healing factor." are gratuitous and uninspired. For longevity a character should have harmonious integration of ability be it skills talent or powers. Then you got people like Supes who ruin my whole theory but hey whatcha gonna do.

Name: Renegade

Father: Mimic

Mother: Rouge

Powers: Can copy the powers of any super powered being in a certain radius and once he copies a power he keeps them and can call them up whenever he wants and combine them. Only thing is that when he first copies a new power, he has to learn to control it and it takes practice to know how to use all of his powers correctly.

Psylocke and Wolverine

Name: Brent aka The PsyWolf (tacky name)

Powers: A highly telekinetic and hard boned bad-ass guy

Since parents are excellent combatants and stealth abilities, this guy as good as them or even better. Capable of sustaining magical powers as well. Though he is not made of adamantium as his dad, he seems to posses quality of the metal in his body, namely in his blood which he can concentrate in particular areas of his bodu thus making this part harder, heavier and compact. He also have good healing factors as his dad

Codename: Lethal

Real name: Logan Lee-Starsmore

Father: Jonathan Starsmore (Chamber/Decibel)

Mother: Jubilation Lee (Jubilee/Wondra)

Anyone who read New Warriors #9 may have noticed a hint of something between these two, so in a blatant act of personal wish-fulfillment, I’m gonna go with this. :-)

Nine months after a wild night (and following day) of passion, Jube gives birth to a son. In his early teens, his mutant powers develop: a combination of his mother’s powerful plasma-based molecular detonation abilities, and his father’s psionic energy abilities. He is able to control his first outburst of psionic energy better than his dad, so he doesn’t destroy any part of his body. Instead, he is able to successfully channel these energies through his hands, and mingle them with the plasma powers he inherited from mom. What results is an immensely powerful bio-energy blast which, when concentrated and directed, is capable of blasting a hole almost all the way to the Earth’s core, and when undirected, can level a small city.

After he accidentally turns 50 square acres of national forest into charcoal while on a camping trip, Jube and Jono immediately send him to the X-Men so that he can be trained how to control and properly use his powers. While there, it is discovered that he is able to form and shape his psionic energies into a force shield that he can cast around himself and others for protection, and also that he is able to channel a powerful and localized blast of plasma power from his feet, enabling him to fly at tremendous speeds, much like a rocket. (This last revelation comes at the cost of $8000 in structural damage to the Xavier mansion – more than doubling his mom’s record from UXM #297).
