Am I the only person who thinks that they made mistake in choosing her? In my opinion I thought her presentation of Emma Frost as a character was relatively mild. Of course I am basing these judgements off of comic books, and previous visual adaptations of the X-men series. In the comics I always sensed that Emma Frost's voice would emanate an aura of arrogance, and sheer coldness. My opinion was confirmed when they presented Emma Frost as a Witty Snob, In the Xmen Cartoons. So how do you dumb someone like that down to this?

I was def not diggin manface JJ as Frost. It didn't help that she had no accent, but that's probably not her fault. Why did she blink like 308975 times in that scene? Lol :P

I feel that she played the part well as it was written. As far as it was written, I don't have many complaints other than that she didn't get enough screen time.

She did the part well enough...I just didn't like her playing the part of Emma really.

I was too. I wasn't sure at first when I heard about it, but I think she did a pretty splendid job.

Definitely. I wasn't familiar enough with her to really have an opinion, but she just didn't feel the part to me from the promo pics. She was one of my favorite parts of the movie and I actually really enjoyed the story between her and Charles and its divergence from the regular comic book canon.

She was ok. I didn't see the movie for Emma, so I really didn't care. 

I think she was OK. Much more meek than as she is inthe comics but I think she did OK.

I think January Jones did a great job given her role and script and I could think of plenty of actresses that could look the part more, but I am not sure with most of them if they could act the part as well. Emma here was played a lot more subtle, than she could have been. I think that was a smart decision, A part of the reason Emma sounds so distinct in comics is half because writers write her with a English accent (because despite being American she picked it up in a battle with a English telepath and this is already too convoluted to explain in a movie) and because she has great moments and scenes to react to. Translating that same method into live action could result in a very cliche cartoony effect, and hard as a supporting character. I do think it can be done, but why risk it. Sarcasm and snark can be hard to pull off in movies, I am glad that they went for a more dry sounding Emma.  
 
I was hoping that they would have had her explain her actions and motivations a bit more. Emma is smart and thats one of the things i love about her character and in the movie she was less of a proactive character and more of a reactive character, to her settings and fellow characters. It was probably a time thing, but I enjoyed most of her main scenes. The part with Magneto, and especially that part with that general.

@Baddamdog: I completely agree with your take on Emma in the film. I had a hard time judging January because she didn't really have much  to say...I guess that's were some critics thought her performance was horrible. January had the cold bitchy quality to her but no way to really convey it properly, due to her lack of lines, so she ended up coming off as kind of dead and disinterested; It's not entirely her fault and I understand why her screen time was kind of short for plot purposes, I just hope that the next time round the writers and January can do more with less... or just more.

Hmm...she made a good Emma Frost.

Watching the movie I thought to myself, ok that is Emma Frost I guess, ok back to the rest of the movie.  She did not get much screen time, but she was forgettable in the time she did get partially because of the way it was written and mainly because she didn't have the same vibe you would expect from Emma.
