If they were to reboot X-Men, what team would you like to see?

What i mean by this is, the original team was Iceman, Angel, Beast, Cyclops, Marvel Girl and the professor. But would you want this team if you were making a new X-Men series? Or a different one? My personal team would be the original team plus Colossus, Wolverine and Kitty Pryde.

Anything without the unstoppable trio of Emma/Logan/Cyclops, like, just make up some sort of excuse that they died in a nuclear bomb explosion or....something.

I'd love to see an xmen reboot. Too many retcons, daft mutant ideas, unrealistic mutant ideas, godlike mutants, convoluted over-complicated stories and too much Wolverine worshipping.

Everyones ideas are great because you're all choosing the more versatile x-men who aren't too powerful.

My personal preference would be a team that all have a different role: -

Nightcrawler for stealth

Cyclops for long range

Angel for air assault

Beast for power and acrobats

Professor Xavier for mind abilities and leadership

Forge for his mechanical ability. Would serve well as a support member

Maybe there should be about 15 - 16 current members in a reboot, with each different small group going out to missions depending on their mutant abilities.

Are there any mutants who can heal another mutant? Or multilingual?

A reboot would work wonders if it was a slightly different style of xmen

I don't want them to reboot it. Every movie was better than the one before it (except the prequels), so imagine how good X4 would be.

But, for the point of this thread:

I'm not sure if this was actually concerning the movie, I think it was just in general.

I'd have a real character driven story line, focusing primarily on development and the conflicting ideals of mutants within society. The original team would have comprised of Cyclops, Bobby, Jean Grey, Emma Frost, Angel and Beast. Shadowcat and the mysterious Rogue would join at later dates. They gelled naturally together, and regardless of their petty squabbles, whether it be over Jean (Scott and Warren viaed for her attention) or the bitching and name calling present in Jean and Emma's relationship, they were loyal too each other. They trained, and saved the world, and even a few relationships bloomed (Jean and Scott, however, soon to be betrayed for Emma and Scott). All seemed to be progressing well. However, after the brutal assassination of Professor Xavier, after he revealed himself and his school to the world, a tragedy which also claimed Beast, the team disbanded. Emma joining the Hell Fire Club, Warren sauntering off too Chicago too live like a playboy millionaire, No one knows were Rogue went and the remaining 4 promising to stay in touch.

The X-Men were reformed by Jean who went in search of a successor team comprised of powerful individuals and now they set off too defend mutant rights.

- Cyclops would be leader, Jean a close second. Naturally, they're involved, although after the Emma fiasco, it's still a bit sore and Jean is unwilling to fully commit for fear she'll be hurt again.

- Shadowcat would be being groomed to succeed Cyclops, and we'd play up her geekyness quite a bit. Close friendships with Nightcrawler and Iceman, with a steady relationship with Colossus, however, Bobby Drake, her on/off crush lingers in the background. Sees Jean as a big sister.

- Colossus, Nightcrawler and now Psylocke maintain the trio dynamic and regularly get together for beers.

- Northstar and Psylocke are fast growing friends

- A confession by Bobby regarding Kitty has soured his and Colossus' relationship.

- Nightcrawler is a priest as always

- Psylocke and Iceman are.. friends with benefits. Large physical attraction from both sides, but neither wants a relationship.

- Scott, Jean and Bobby are undeniably linked due to being the longest serving X-Men and see each other as family.

I would like to see another Run at Generation X with most the original cast

Husk, Chamber, Skin, Synch, Jubilee, M & Penance

Only an adult team kind of how they have done with New mutants recently. Also if its a reboot maybe a look at the Deadly Genesis Team we never got to see

Vulcan, Sway, Petra & Darwin

all characters that interested me but never really got any attention

Mercury I can honestly and shamefully say I forgot. As for Elixir I really feel the way he left the X-men was something I liked well enough that I can't see him in a team until someone more creative than I gives a better reason than what I could give.

Cyclops: Co-team leader, and good ranged combat

Storm: Co-team leader, and able to control the battlefield

Beast: The glue that holds the team together. The smartest member, who can also kick some butt when needed

Iceman: Omega level mutant who has the potential to be the powerhouse of the team

Rogue: A wildcard. Has the potential to be the most dangerous mutant

Cannonball: The rookie. Has prospects of being a future leader. Recon

Cloak & Dagger: Under utilized! Cloak for teleportation/transportation. Dagger for hand-to-hand and ranged combat

Well for what I think we would see Jean, Scott, Bobby, Hank, Ororo, Kitty, Piotr, Kurt, Logan and Xavier would probably be the start.

Deadly Genesis being the start could be interesting. Everyone dies on the island except Jean and Scott. Bring in Logan, Ororo and Piotr.

New Mutants: Cannonball, Sunspot, Magik, Dani, Magma, Wolfsbane, Karma, Kitty and Kurt.

GenX: Warpath, Synch, Monet, Jubilee, Husk, Warpath, Empath, Firestar and Tarot. (Replaces Hellions under Frost)

I dunno if anyone remembers, but in Uncanny X-men #300 Xavier is shown in a flashback talking to Moira about the team he's getting ready to assemble. In this scene he also is shown to be aware of, at least, Storm, Colossus, and the Nightcrawller, in addition to the O5. I've always thought that team would be a great reboot.

Also I always thought it would add a lot to the characters if it was actually a young, still out of control Cyclops who was responsible for Xavier being in a wheelchair..
