I really want to get a good X-men story, doesn't matter if old or new, I would just want it to be emotional, something with feeling. Could you guys and gals offer any recommendations?

Messiah Complex, Messiah War, Second Coming is a decent trilogy that leads into current events.

Personally liked X-Men Legacy 208 - 213. Chris Claremont's Run from Post Inferno (#244) until beginning of Legion's Quest (somewhere in the 320s), Loved the opening 20 or so issues of the original X-Factor, Chris Claremont's run on New Mutants and a good chunk of Peter David's run on X-Factor
