Since I did a blog on my favorite moments from Joss Whedon's run on Astonishing X-Men, what moments did you enjoyed from this run?
X-Men
Team » X-Men appears in 13419 issues.
The X-Men are a superhero team of mutants founded by Professor Charles Xavier. They are dedicated to helping fellow mutants and sworn to protect a world that fears and hates them.
Favorite moment in Joss Whedon's run on Astonishing X-Men?

@Rabbitearsblog: pretty much any moment where one of the X-men is talking.
This moment pretty much confirms that!

Oh yeah! Loved this moment!!

@HyeDaa: Kitty really was the main character of this run, and it was a looong overdue return to form. almost 20 years!!
When they are assisting the Fantastic Four and everyone has deep inner monologue and all Wolverine has to think about was much he likes beer.
@cattlebattle: Armor: "can I help?"
Wolverine: "are you a beer?"
actually, I loved everything about Wolverine and Armor's relationship in this run; it's these stories that made me love Armor, and for Wolverine, it really is what he does best.

see? like this, for example; I don't even know where to start with this one.
Yeah. There was a lot of attention paid to Wolverines lust for beer@cattlebattle: Armor: "can I help?"

I actually don't like that word....but I heavily agree. People praise it like its the bible when its really a Joss Whedon X-Men fan fiction that got published
@dangallant984: Lol soz, but this is what i'm talking. I get that the OP's a strong supporter of the run, clearly never hesitates to admit how much he loves it, but i personally don't see the reason for the creation of a thread in appreciation for a specific run, which wasn't all that good, and then there's the content, which blows things out of proportions.

And I don't see why you comment on threads about things that you seem to not like. If you don't have a "Favorite moment from Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-men", why enter the thread in the first place? Are your feelings of it being overrated really that strong?
I know not everything's for everyone, and I have no problem seeing the things I like being put up to genuine criticism, but if it "wasn't all that good" then what wasn't good about it? Is it that it simply gets more recognition than you think it deserves, or do you actually see it as creatively lacking?
Because I've read it, and most other X-men comics, and I think it does stand out as one of the most well-crafted and accessible periods of X-men lore. Is it for everyone? no; Does it get more credit than it deserves? well, I suppose that's debatable, but just saying point blank that it was "overrated" and, in your opinion, "wasn't all that good" does nothing to explain your point. And that's on top of having nothing to do with the theme of the thread.
So, just where are you going with this, anyway?

1). This is a public forum. I'm free to do exactly what i please without you or anyone else pestering me, so long as i'm not physically/mentally harming someone, i'm still in the right. You should not have a problem with a comic book fan entering a thread proceeding to post comments contrary to the topic, yes, the explanation's more or less "don't like it don't buy it/don't comment on it", but this is the internet. Get with it.
2). Personally, more recognition that i think it deserves. This thread and many others like it are exactly what i'm talking about.
3). Not that my intention here was to give a dissertation as to why i do not praise the run like so many others do, no. I came in here to post a comment, as stupid and as time-wasting as you may have found it, it has been done.
Would you like me to explain in full depth why i find the recognition so hyperbolic ?

I don't have a scan of it, but the moment where Kitty and Piotr are holding hands and Emma is looking down on the pair with a twinge of jealousy/old demons haunting her.
I had the scan, but I can't post it! But I loved that moment too!!

THIS. And the events leading up to it. If you don't know it... shame on you :p
The "Astonished Miss Pryde" moment is a close second.
Awesome moment!!!

1). Sorry, 'Cane, didn't mean to pester you. You are certainly within your rights to be contrary. Although less so in telling me what I should or shouldn't have a problem with; as far as I can see, and by your logic, I am also well within my rights to question you on your comments. Especially when they are as vague and off topic as yours were.
2). Fair enough. But you do realize that the more you comment on a thread, the longer it stays at the top. You can't comment a thread down, so by participating in it, you are really only lengthening it's life span and giving more attention to it.
3). I have no reason to call your comment stupid, I only meant to point out that it seemed unconstructively vague and out of context in this thread. That it actually seems to be working counter to your intention seems proof enough of that (unless this was in fact your intention, in which case, very crafty).
And, yes, though I feel I can imagine what your main criticisms of this series would be, I am actually interested in hearing why you find it's recognition so offensively hyperbolic.
But more than that, since you say that this series is so undeserving of it's praise, I'd be interested in knowing which X-men stories, by your account, are more deserving of praise.

The part where all the heroes are in a trance, and Spider-man snap ou of it and punch Storm in the face...Wait...that was still Whedon's run?
Definitely yes!

Another moment for me:
This and the fastball special.
Oh yeah! I loved the fastball special too!
The end. LOL. Just kidding. I'm not a big fan of the Kitty/Piotr relationship and she never really became one of my favorite characters so I could do without them. But most of my favorite scenes showed the Awesome and Terrible Power of Cyclops (it tends to get forgotten because his power isn't as fancy as some peoples') or Emma Frost. My favorite moment was Emma using her power to have everyone communicate a plan telepathically in a nanosecond while they were talking in order to convince Ord that they were going to do something else but I can't find a scan of that at the moment:
