So everyone is talking about just how powerful this new Extinction Team is.

They are a very well rounded and powerful team:

Leader: Cyclops=One of the best leaders and tacticians in Marvel with the added bonus of having a nuke in his head.

Team Telepath: Emma Frost= One of the worlds most powerful tp users with the added bonus of being able to transform into nigh invulnerable diamond

Team Tech: Danger=Shia'r super robot, that can morph, analyze data at super speed, form solid light holograms, control other machines and a ton of other capabilities on top of super strength and durability

Team Powerhouse: Colossus= Literally an Unstoppable immortal uber brick with moderate super speed and insane regen combined unmatched strength and durability.

Team Sorcerer and Primary transport: Magik= One of marvel's most powerful magic users combined w/ time traveling and teleportation powers. Added bonus, she is all powerful in Limbo and has one weapon that can counter most magic based opponents , the soul sword. It doesn't hurt that she has a demon army waiting at her beck and call in Limbo. Team Extinction can pop up anywhere at anytime..which adds to their already intimidating stature.

Team Energy Manipulators: Storm and Magneto= Two of the most powerful energy manipulators on the planet. The Queen of Wakanda and the Master of Magnetism, bring unmatched versatility. You need fog for cover? A impenetrable shield? both have long ranged attacks and have powers that can be used for defense and offense.

Team Under water specialist: Namor= With 66% of the worlds surface covered in water, the E-team has the world's finest underwater warrior. The ultimate navy seal. Added bonus, he can fly at super speeds and has top notch strength and durability and similar to Illyana has access to the wold's greatest underwater army.

Team Trump Card: Hope= The ultimate weapon of mass destruction, the Phoenix Force. Added bonus, she can copy any of the abilities of 8 extremely powerful individuals. When all else fails you just let her loose..

Team Speedster:? who is the best candidate? northstar? quicksilver? anyone else? both have ego's the size of the moon so they will fit right in with this group.

Any other holes that need to be plugged in this team?

Well Quicksilver is based on the West Coast now, but seeing his relationship with Magneto for what it is I doubt that'll happen. I'd rather see someone like Speed in the role but I don't see him being serious enough. Hope's team has got a speedster but he's a bit new to it all. So that leaves Northstar who already was a part of Utopia, was part of the San Francisco street team of X-Men and recently Alpha Flight was cancelled. Seems the logical choice. Plus this way Aurora could go be a teacher at Logan's school.

Who is the most powerful mutant speedster anyway?

they don't need a speedster for one, the Xmen never relied on this because they always had somebody to take this role, whether a flyer, a telepath or a teleporter, why have a speedster when either one of those can be a speedster?  they are not the JLA they don't need a similar rooster.

@LordOfAllHumans: I think some who has faster then light reactions and reflexes comes in very handy. It's the only reason the JLA dominate on the rumbles board...speed. I admit if a writer uses Magik's powerset creatively she can either slow time around her (essentially making her a speedster) or use her discs for all sorts of cool feats. You take out the the speed factor of the JLA and in my opinion this team would match up well with them with it's combination powers. The speed blitz is a very effective battle tactic. fast combat. If you gave Colossus, Hope and Magik speedster like reflexes they would be almost unbeatable...

@LordOfAllHumans: Take out flash and the speed blitz and this team can beat them. heck, all magik needs to do is bring them to limbo and they are toast.

She can basically shield her whole team from attacks more effective than Magneto can.( since she is not resisting the blast, just redirecting it, i think she can actually turn the blast back at her opponent by opening another disc close to her opponent.) Just with her discs alone she can do a ton of damage w/o out using other spells and the sword.

Magik can just redirect powerful attacks on the opponent. She doesn't even have to be on the battle field since she basically dive bombed kuurth from the crimson cosmos with Colossus. she can teleport a limb of just like that piece of ground which was their platform from earth to limbo. She can attack exactly where she wants since she teleported Colossus right on top of Kuurth and the Celestial robot both from a great distance and she can even open multiple discs at any angle.

What makes her different from other teleporters is she does not need to touch the opponent aka nightcrawler or she does not need to engulf them ala cloak and raven. Heck she can just battle from another dimension where she wont get harmed...she can just erect multiple discs as shields for her teammates

Yeah although no character at marvel fights at faster than light, FTl is just used for movement not combat. Still northstar is the only option really

Quicksilver - Horrible relationship with his dad, Magneto.

Northstar - Not up to par with the other powerhouses (imo).

Surge - Self doubted leader who is very headstrong and only a kid!

Sabra - Hasn't really been seen in awhile... has assisted the X-Men several times but not enough relations there for her to leave Israel and join the X-Men in San Fran.

I have to disagree with your opinion about Northstar. He has an amazing powerset!

he has projectiles, blinding light, can be a projectile himself, excellent speed and reflexes, durability, flight. Based on his powers alone, he definitely can fit in with Team Extinction. Personality-wise, I am not so sure he would be interested but if Scott gave him a pep talk on how he needs a speedster on his roster, I can see him being a part of this team. He has shown feats which put him over 9000 mph. This is also from his profile.

It's theoretically possible for him to reach 99% of the speed of light (186, 272 miles per second in a vacuum), although he never traveled at anywhere near that speed since if he did, he would wreak great damage upon himself and his environment. Northstar can also move a portion of his body at superhuman speed at a time.

Even if he were to travel at a fraction of 186,272 mph, that could put him at higher than 9000 mph.

I actually did mean personality wise! He has nothing in common with these powerhouses!! Storm (never seen a relationship build at all, let alone a conversation together), Cyclops (Northstar has been under his leadership and has been a teacher while he was headmaster but that's it!), Emma Frost (I can't recall an interaction), Magneto (nothing in common at all...), Colossus (I've never seen a relationship build unless u count the Ultimate one), Magik (nada....), Danger (zelich....), Namor (zip....), and Hope (not a chance)... So personality, team work, and cohesiveness wise, Northstar couldn't work well with these big guns!! But if we were basically basing this solely on power wise then yes he would make a great addition! I'm full aware of his powers and what he could do with them, I was basing my post on whether or not he could work well with them... which is a definite NO!! He does get along great with X-Men like: Dazzler, Pixie, Husk, Nightcrawler and Jean (even though they're dead), Iceman, Anole, Surge, Loa, Indra, Polaris, Havok, Juggernaut, Angel, and Jubilee because he has either worked with them side by side in the field or he has taught them. I really shouldn't say Wolverine because he actually killed Northstar once, unintentionally, but whatev!!!

There ya go...not even photon is fast enough to tag magik. i guess her time manipulation powers play into this too...here she her demon minions set up the table in a split second before she finishes her word..she probably has demon reflexes too...
