Does anyone remember "X-Men: Children of the Atom" video game?
Yes, I still have it for the Sega Saturn( USA & JPN versions ) and PS1
Shame it isn't a part of Capcom's Marvel Origins collection as I liked it over the MSH game

Oh yeah! I loved this game more than Marvel Super Heroes since I loved seeing the backgrounds change whenever the characters win.
I definitely would love to pick up this game on Sega Saturn someday, if I have the money to buy me a Sega Saturn.

Yeah! I have never seen a game at the time where the scenery changes and that always made this game more interesting!
@Rabbitearsblog: Of course. I still play that game from time to time and i always use Storm. : )

really? do you spam typhoon?
I loved the crashing floor on the Mojoworld screen, so cool. Almost always played as either Psylocke or Iceman :)
Yep - I always chose Spiral. Unfortunately, I was not able to locate a copy of the game for my home use and the emulator I used didn't work so well with fighting games. It's apparently very rare.

I loved that scene too! Actually, the mojoworld was my favorite level in the entire game (next to Iceman's stage on the beach!)
I've always loved the way that Colossus performs some wrestling moves on his opponents. My favorite being the pile drive!

Aw man. I wish I had a Sega Saturn. I only have a Sega Genesis and I don't think that this game is available on Sega Genesis.

No, it's not available on Sega Genesis. I actually still have my Sega Saturn from when it launched. But the memory unit died on it so I can't save any games which kinda sucks.
If you really want to play it, download the rom for the arcade version.

Just make sure you get the right emulator and pay attention to the instructions. If you get the wrong one it won't work. It can get kinda confusing to use. www.cool-rom.com has a ton of games. With the Nintendo 64 games and older all have emulators and roms that are easy to use.

Me too. I always spam typhoon so Sentinel wouldn't be able to get near Storm.
But I kinda find Colossus to be the most difficult to beat.
Did Colossus always do those wrestling moves on Storm that it's hard to get by him?@jloneblackheart said:

yes. when is is able to get near, he would dash or jump to hit you.
That's why the only way to win is to keep away from him by spamming typhoon on air and on the ground.
Magneto is very very difficult to beat. He is definitely the toughest boss in marvel vs capcom series.
I can only beat him when i use Storm.
Yeah, Magneto was really tough to beat!@Rabbitearsblog said:

Yes, I remember primarily Iceman making "COOL" out of ice when he won and Magnetos Acolytes would descend down if you beat him....thats about it

Me too! My favorite stages were Iceman's stage, Spiral's stage, Wolverine's Stage, and Magneto's Stage.I actually love the stages.

for me, my least favorite was Magneto's stage because it's not like other stages that really moves or the ground breaks and puts you to another stage.
my favorite is the danger room, it scene changes from time to time.
I wonder why UMVC3 didn't make stages similar to the xcota stages which were done well.
I've wondered about that too. It's like the same things keep happening in the backgrounds while in X-men Children of the Atom, the stage changes depending on whether or not the character wins.@Rabbitearsblog said:

I never played this game as it was a little before my time, but it seems the movesets are nearly identical to MvC 2. Colossus, Thanos and Juggernaut! I dominated with this team until the online version came to the playstation store. Then I met a combo called Magneto, Storm and Psylocke. I lost 80 billion times in a row.

I have Storm sprites but i just couldn't load it through this laptop. : (
and eventhough Storm seems to be a good character to use, she was tagged as a low tier character, one of the weakest actually for this game.

http://www.fightersgeneration.com/main.htm Go to the 'Characters' link and you'll see a menu with different names listed. When you select a name, scroll all the way down to a link that says 'Animations'.

She had a lot of moves that were slow and underpowered. You'd end up spending more time chaining them than removing parts of the enemies' health bar. Technically, Silver Samurai and Spiral were in the lowest tier, too, but Spiral's moveset just clicked for me. Storm, Spiral and Psylocke didn't weigh that much, so would get knocked around a lot and more easily stunned even though Spiral and Storm could safe fall and escape from certain moves. The real bad thing about Storm was that certain characters could completely ignore many of her attacks and hit her for big damage (Colossus' shoulder charge was a big issue even though in certain levels she could keep on spamming lightning and typhoon without him getting close). I chalk it up to their having no idea what she was capable of because a lot of her moves, while they fit the character, didn't resemble the comic version at all. I mean, a lightning ball versus bolt?

I see. Yeah. Storm's typhoon is the most useful by spamming but most of her attacks are weaker and less useful. Good thing lightning attack is good in umvc3 but the typhooon is very very slow, making it useless. I really don't find lightning ball useful since xcota to umvc3

I usually just copy and paste it into the message. I really loved the animation in these games, so I scour the internet for new pics constantly.
Storm hands down might have been the best Character back in the day-- Her combos were OFF THE HOOK! Classic!
