The X-Men are a superhero team of mutants founded by Professor Charles Xavier. They are dedicated to helping fellow mutants and sworn to protect a world that fears and hates them.
Now S.H.I.E.L.D has assigned you to create an all star team of X-men,
Now you can choose 11 members but you must specify their roles. You need 1,2, or 3 leaders, 1 tanks, and 2 telapaths, specify who is in what role. And... GO!!!
Actually, don't forget she stayed with Acolytes under Exodus after she was freed from possession by Malice and that she left with depowered Magneto when they "rescued" Xavier from Exodus, it wasn't revealed what really happened to them yet we can feel free for our interpretation :) Also, Magneto IIRC restored her humanity during pre-HOM Claremont's Excalibur. Lots of potential there I'd say, even on a personal level ;) Magneto and a Sentinel? That could be hilarious!
None of them can clearly pass as a potential follower of his cause, but that's were a strong and well-thought plotline logically binds them. With that said, I think most of us can see Warpath, Frenzy and Unuscione doing some nasty work again. It's Elixir, Karima and Sage whose questionable presence will need some clarification - no one really knows where Elixir is, that could be the breaking point that will be developed, maybe he was abducted for his Omega-level Biokinesis to be studied and abused. Karima, I think reasoning her presence on a team as this one could be kept by emotional aspect, maybe she feels the need to go against the tide of her creation and to ensure no one else will face her Sentinel fate. Sage is there actually to keep an eye on them, but that for sure could evolve into something else.

I wasn't very interested in this lineup at first, but this explanation kind of sells me on it.
so, if we're doing teams with characters not included in the poll..
I think it would be cool to focus on a lineup like this as the X-men's Junior field team, with Armor as the leader and Rachel and Nightcrawler as the team's senior advisers. I'm picturing something that could work with what's cool about Wolverine & the X-Men, but combined with the far out nature of something like the original Excalibur. It's easy to imagine Nightcrawler being compelled to keep an eye on Wolverine's former students, and besides being good friends with Nightcrawler, it's easy to imagine why Rachel would be compelled to keep an eye on Quire especially.
only thing is, without Wolverine on this team, I don't know what the team/book would be called.. Nightcrawler and the X-men doesn't have quite the same ring. I feel like, in story they would simply refer to themselves as the X-men, but the book itself could bring back the old Fallen Angels title; that book sucked, but with Nightcrawler on a team with these characters, I could see how the title would at least be appropriate..
Professor X-Leader( Professor X will always be the beast leader IMO.
1.Wolverine-field commander
2.Storm- 2nd field commander
3.Ultimate Colossus-My power house/Tank if you will
4.Beast-combo of intelligence and fighting skills puts him in this
5.Night Crawler-his religious beliefs mixed with his skill of teleportation grants him access
6.Bishop-It is always good to have an outstanding fighter with unique mutant powers such as his
7.Darwin- His ability to adapt to survive is one of the most underrated mutant powers in all of Marvel
8.Savage Hulk(It is always good to have a brute force like Savage hulk on your side. the other hulks can keep doing what they are doing
9.War Machine-Great with his both Air to Air and ground combat skills
10. U.S. Agent( the avengers brush him off when he tries out for their team so we come and recruit him for his combat skills; of which he gladly accepts
11.Black Panther-His super human intellect mixed with his combo of awesome fighting skills, and ability to create tactical combat weapons gives him a firm spot in my "X-Sqaud" as well..
* This was hard as i went back and forth on several characters but in the end this would be a great fit for my team..
Thanos has again enlisted and souped up Controller as well as Modred the Mystic in order to create a new "techno-spell" to brainwash all of Earth's heroes, leaders, and civilians into having WWIII. The war serves as a distraction so that Thanos may spend the uninterrupted time necessary to uncover all the cosmic artifacts hidden on Earth by Illuminati, etc. All non-mutants immediately fell under their control, but mutants were initially resistant. It did not take long, however, for the villains to fix their error, but as they did, they were sure to then focus their artificial war against mutant-kind in the meantime, as they more gradually/manually put mutants under their control as well. This was just enough time for Storm and Bishop, who were just talking about starting another X-Force team, to realize what was happening and recruit a team.
They decided Storm should get to Northstar ASAP knowing that he could fly Storm to as many potential allies as possible at light speed, while Bishop continued to unsuccessfully try to recruit in America. As mutants now, too, begin to fall under mind control, Storm finds Northstar and they remembered that Kitty Pryde, who has some cosmic experience as Star Lady, is in Japan, which also happened to be the last place to on Earth to fall under mind-control because of its proximity to the International Date Line. Storm and Northstar find that Kitty and Sunfire are both still not under mind control yet. They realize that in order to protect themselves, they need a telepath, who WASNT a telepath at the time of the techno-spell because already-powered telepaths had already been brainwashed and too risky to engage with. Storm radios Bishop (who it turns out is only one totally resistant to the spell because he is from the future and an even more evolved mutant) and tells him to meet her, Kitty, Sunfire, and Nortstar at the mutant school to find Moonstar, and that time is running out.
The five mutants find each other and then find Moonstar, still depowered and under the spell; so they put their heads together and decided the only way to reactivate Moonstar's mutant gene is to involve each of their powers in some way. Storm, Sunfire, and Northstar simultaneously shoot Bishop with lightening, plasma, and light, respectively. The supercharged Bishop then fires this fusion blast at Moonstar as Kitty embraces her and causes her to phase. The fusion blast passing through the intangible Moonstar reactivates her mutant gene, restoring ALL her original powers, breaking her of the spell, and allowing her to immediately telepathically protect the new super-team, all unbeknownst to the villains because, comics. Now its up to the newly christened X-Team Six, the only ones left in the world to save the mutants from war, save the earth from magical/technological mind-control, and stop Thanos from assembling all the artifacts :-)
2.Kitty (field leader, intelligence and phase control what is very usefull))
3.Colossus( the tank)
4. Psylocke( the ninja, strategic ,Telepathy conection)
5. Magik & 6. Nightcrawler ( teleporters, and fighters with swords, magic and faith)
7. Iceman & 8. Beast (funny ice and blue intelligence)
The perfect team with an equilibrium of Strong and knowlledge and technics, maybe I use ROGUE sometimes like a plan b if someone of them don,t could be in!
I assumed I could use mutants not on the list. It's kind of a mix of more badass/dark mutants and some newer ones that I like.
1. Cyclops. Leader 2. Magik. Teleportation is so useful. 2nd leader. 3. Colossus. Tank. Love him. 4. X-23. Rampage. Strong female character. 5. Quentin Quire. Telepath. Love his badass attitude. 6. Sunspot. Favorite mutant ever. 7. Triage. Healer. Freaking useful. 8. Armor. Just because. Love her. 9. Gambit. His skill set is awesome. So sneaky.
Not a big fan of the limitations (especially 2 telepaths), but it was fun to work within the assigned structure. With such a large number of team members, I decided to segment the roster into 3 specific groups.
FIELD TEAM – Specializes in infiltration, espionage and enemy engagement.
· Jean Grey – Co-leader field team, Telepathic communication hub
· Mystique – Co-leader field team, Stealth and espionage expert
· Nightcrawler – Scout, stealth, and penetration expert.
· Quicksilver – Scout, Quick Assault specialist.
· Colossus – Tank
· Wolverine – Can Opener
PERIMETER TEAM – Oversees and supports the field team.
· Storm – Team leader, Uses weather abilities to assist the field team
· Magick – Team logistics, Occult specialist
· Ice Man – Calvary
HQ – Assigns missions, provides accommodations and tech.
· Professor Xavier – Overall command, Team support
Seriously, I would like opinions on my work. Follow the original work, it starts with just mutants but grows into something more:
All New Exiles Vol 1
30 Issues
Premise: Despite all his efforts, Miguel O'Hara can't seem to return to his home timeline. He had every intention to double his efforts, but he was unprepared for the single worse news of his life. The comatose Tempest Monroe, as well as their unborn child, had 90 days to live. Spiraling into rage and depression, the future Spider-man tracks down all possible leads he can think of, only to hear everyone say the same basic thing: They were going to die in a matter of months and there was nothing he could do to save them. Standing in front of the entrance to the underground supervillain city of Bagalia in search of other, unforgivable methods, Miguel prepares to dive in head first if it means saving his family. But before he can take a step, he is attack by two hooded figures. During the scuffle, one of the attackers teleports them back to the Parker Industries hospital. Demanding answers, Miguel rips off their coats only to find (SNIKT!) a set of claws pointed at his throat. The female then said, "Miguel, you don't know me, but my name is Clarice Ferguson (Blink) and if you help me and my friend Jimmy (Ultimate Wolverine) save the multiverse, we can help you save your family." Before he can question how they know him, he sees a third figure standing over Tempest. Enraged, Miguel leapt at the person only to find himself frozen in mid-air.
(Miguel, be calm. No, your not going crazy. My name is Rachel Grey and we need you just as much as you need us.)
Seeing that Tempest is still unresponsive, Miguel asks where they start. Blink turns to him and states, "We start with what happened 8 months ago and we start with Doctor Doom."
Artist: Salvador Larocca (X-Men: No More Humans)
Main Cast: AOA Blink, Spider-Man 2099, Jimmy Hudson (Ultimate), Rachel Grey (The initial members), Noah-Varr, Ragnarok (Clone Thor is wielding an alternate reality Mjolnir), Ruby Summers, and Adam Warlock (616)
Mission: Blink brings together other alt reality individuals stuck on the new Marvel Earth to prevent their own dark futures/realities, fulfill their own personal goals, and find out if the Secret Wars are really over.
@tristanheron: There would need to be a lot that, of course. These are characters from different universes AND different events. They each have different ways if approaching problems. Example: Ragnarok was literally born to hit things and he'd be working with Blink who'd want the fighting to stop, considering what she's been through. And from the premise you can tell Spidey and Jimmy won't like each other that much, but situations would force them to deal with it. Plus Rachel would bond with Adam while helping with his Magus issues (Spoiler alert: Things go wrong). And that would be on top of the crazy worlds they'll go to and other characters they'll meet (A dimension were AXIS happened on a universal scale, Planet HYDRA 2099, Age of Ultimate Apocalypse, World War III, Eternals vs Inhumans, Scott Summers vs the World, etc.)
I'm suprised at how popular Magik is. In a poll for an all-star team of X-Men she has more votes than Wolverine, Colossus, Beast, Rogue, Gambit and Emma, and the same amount of votes as Jean Grey!
@tristanheron: I think it's due to the fact that she is not overused. X-Men like Cyke, Jean and Logan are classics, but (imo), they're overused. At least, we already saw a lot of them. If I could write a story with the mutants of my choice, I wouldn't pick them, except for Scott, who still has some great stories to tell. AND Magik's powers are awesome.
@hawk2916: I'm not sure about that. It was huge in pop culture in the late 90s/early 00s.
@imfxlix: I think Cyke and Logan have been overused, but there are plenty of good stories to tell for both of them. Batman is overused too but people still want him in the Justice League.
Magik has been used a lot in New Mutants. Maybe for a fan that only reads X-Men she is not overused.
@tristanheron: Just look at the Tv programming or better novels and books especially in the YA/ fantasy genre. Just about every network has some Angel and Demon type show. That culture very alive and well. It may not be the vampire craze from a while ago but the occult genre is still very strong.
Line up- Beast, dazzler, magik, colossus, gambit, jean grey, x-23, warpath, bishop.
team made by shield to keep tabs on some Volatile heroes. Team is tracking down a group of enhanced scientists performing experiments on mhumans, mutants and inhumans.
One more lineup for a new character focused Astonishing X-Men team. Without Cyclops, Wolverine and Kitty, these characters would get a chance to shine.
Some of your lineups are quite similar to mine. For a long time now I've wanted to see a team with Emma and Rogue on it together along with Kitty and Colossus. Rachel and Nightcrawler would be great as well. This was my search and rescue type team for newly emerging or endangered mutants. I think I had added Dr. Nemesis, Chamber, Jubilee and it seems like I had Magik there just for the interaction between her Kitty and Colossus. Plus I thought her and Emma got on pretty well. Karma and Rayne Sinclair would seem like decent fits as well but I can't make the team too big lol
