Ok, so Wolverine has a healing factor, back in the day there was an issue where Mystique claimed she could still kill him by cutting his throat and bleeding him out faster than his power can keep up but we know he's been amped up ridiculously since, there was an issue where he regenerated from just a skeleton following a blast from Nitro, but in X-Factor Forever Caliban manages to kill Sabertooth by drowning him in a sewer. So my question is, can a lack of oxygen kill Wolverine or can he just create oxygen from nothingness to retain brain function and keep his circulatory systems operating as part of his ability now? If not does he just go into some kind of stasis? And if so, can he even be killed by being left adrift in space? How far are they pushing his healing factor nowadays?

Can Wolverine Drown?
@urban_spaceman: Well its how he killed Daken
@urban_spaceman: He killed Daken that way and Sabretooth almost killed him that way as well. You could also overload his healing factor as well
@jonny_anonymous: Rad, thanks for the prompt response, last I remember about this topic there was something going on about a special sword that was his only weakness or some crap. I guess, wolverine would probably sink in water too due to the weight of his bones :/ glad he does still have some solid weakness.
He has noted that if you put him in water and let him drown, he'll just keep reviving and dying again in a drawn out process. Logan described it as being worse than death itself. He would probably live if you took him out of the water after drowning him. So yes, lack of oxygen is a viable way to kill Wolverine.
Oh, this another thread about how Logan's healing factor is overpowered....
EDIT: The Nitro incident was a one time extreme showing that can be considered PIS. I do not know why people take it so seriously.
I believe he can. Also Why on earth has Wolverine come back from a skeleton just because you have a healing factor doesn't mean you can regrow your limps and body. Healing and regrowing are two different abilities.
You sir, should write an E-Mail to Marvel with that exact sentence. The listen to them give some crazy pseudo scientific reason
Seriously though, his healing factor has been update to "regenerative healing factor" The word regenerating is inclusive to being able to grow limbs. Wolverine wouldn't really be able to lose a limb anyways seeing as he has an adamantium skeleton, also, in the Age of Apocalypse storyline, Wolverine had lost his hand.
Yes. Especially since his whole skeleton is covered with adamantioun it will make it harder for wolverine in the ocean or the sea because he weight will pull him down. His healing factor will only keep him alive for so long because his lungs will fill with water.

Can admantium cut admantium?
Doubt it, humans can do this thing called anaerobic respiration. It doesn't need oxygen. It happens when you work out and your body needs to use more energy. The reason we don't always do it is because it isn't as efficient as oxygen and it leaves a wast product behind. In small amounts it may just make your muscles hurt. In large it could kill you. The wast product means nothing to wolverine since his healing factor would get rid of it so his body can do it to a large amount without consequence.
@urban_spaceman: Well its how he killed Daken
Ha... Remender is funny. Daken drowned in a puddle. But yeah, in the same story, Wolverine almost drowned. So I guess the answer is yes.
Easily. The fact that his skeleton is coated with extremely heavy metal makes it all that much worse since he would sink like a rock if you dropped him in deep water. X-23 can barely swim and she only has the six blades worth of adamantium in her body to weigh her down.

I honestly wouldn't pay attention to that at all. Wolverine gained 100 pounds when he got the adamantium bonded to him. X-23 probably gained 5 pounds. If she is having a problem with 5 pounds then she is obviously is weak swimmer to begin with. Then you have to realize when you have that added weight 24/7 your body compensates by growing bigger muscles there to the point where you wouldn't even notice the weight. Wolverine having the metal for decades i can tell you he probably barley notices it. Especially since he can move a ton with one arm after the adamantium bonding, i think he can swim even with the extra weight.
