This is a game where you rate your faviourite x-men cover of all time that includes spin off books such as New Mutants, Cable, Wolverine, X-force etc.
I'll start it off
Uncanny x-men #141 Days of Future past.
Team » X-Men appears in 13416 issues.
I was never a fan of the Astonishing X-Men covers they were pretty bland (Except for the emma covering scott's eyes) they all get a 6 from me.
8 for Days of Future Past, Brilliant cover, true classic
5 for Wolverine, May be a classic, but Wolverine's face always scares me here. The way its drawn and how he's mostly naked makes it look like he has alternate motives.
AvX had an insane #1 cover, too bad the story is mediocre :\
Second Coming has wayyy too many awesome covers

Technically this is X-Factor, but this was my first X book ever.
this cover is great!
I think it's kind of funny that with all the cross-overs they had during this period, it would still take them another two or three years to unite these characters into one team; it just seems so obvious in retrospect.
if you replace Dazzler/Longshot/Havok with Jubilee/Gambit/Bishop, it's the 90's X-men.
X-Men #101 for me, Sorry I can't upload a photo now. My work PC's browser does not support the text editor!
@dangallant984: The cover artist was Stephane Roux. Good stuff.

Thanks!
here's some I like from when I was a kid:
this period was pretty spotty, for covers, and in general, but I liked these issues, and JoMad still interested me as an artist. Then they let him do Age of Apocalypse, and it was all downhill..
Though not a great period overall, I liked most of the issues that focussed on Beast/Iceman/Rogue/Gambit/Storm/Psylocke/Angel/Bishop, which was most of them. This was never the official team, I don't think, but between those characters, it didn't feel like anything was missing. I expect that this may have been the impetus for Storm's X-treme X-men, which seemed to be the characters left over during Morrison's New X-men.
though in a few cases I may be being swayed by the story inside, I really tried not to just pick my favourite issues; that said, these are probably my favourite covers of the 80's:

@broo1232: haha! I actually love that cover!
@PhoenixoftheTides: oh man, Art Adams was one of my favourites growing up. I liked a lot of the guys who did covers for X-men Classics, and always was wishing one of them would be the regular artist.
Then we got JoMad, and I was ecstatic, for about a year..

Some Astonishing X-Men's covers were very cool(the last one it too lol):
haha! I was totally going to put this one up, love this cover!
Astonishing did have some cool covers, though. It sort of bugged me how every seventh issue just had a generic team shot to use as the cover of the trade. I would have loved the first chapter of Torn (#13) to have Wolverine fighting all the students on the cover, that could've been cool, and it's a scene we don't actually get in the story.
Maybe I'll make an alternate cover of my own..
