Wolverine can beat Cap. Cyclops vs Cap is open in the air based on environment, distance etc. Cykes has no hope up close against Cap.

Iceman kicks the crap out of Spider-Man

Colossus can beat Hulk or Thing when amped.

Ms. Marvel beats Rogue.

The Other times when they've fought the writers never matched their counter parts up directly and I wouldn't expect them too this time either. Cap and Cyclops are to smart to put Ironman against Magneto and so on. Btw I agree with the first person but is put Spider-man over Gambit and Beast can probably do enough to beat Luke Cage. I agree with the other list also but Cap has beat or went stand still against Wolverine and Cyclops in the past so I'll take him.

Magneto messes up Iron man and Colossus KO Thing and Hulk. I believe it was Namor vs Thing in those promos. Namor destroys Thing.

Cyclops or Wolverine vs Captain America: As much as I like Cyclops, against Captain America I think he would be beaten one on one but make a good showing for himself. Now for Wolverine vs Cap I think in a single fight Cap would beat Wolverine but with the healing factor unless Cap was able to cause so much damage to render Wolverine unconcious or severely damaged him Wolverine would eventually prevail.

Storm vs Thor: This is not even a question, Thor would crush her.

Iceman vs Spiderman: For this I think it would depend on who was writing and if they were basing it off popularity. I think Iceman could prevail if based off powers and abilities alone. Iceman's powers have evolved over time and he still has room to grow while for the most part Spiderman has had the same bag of tricks for some time, minus the varions outfits he has had. Iceman in a close one.

Emma Frost vs Hulk: I think Emma could keep the Hulk at bay for a while by messing with his mind. Though that could serve to piss him off more and that could be a bad idea. Hulk for the win.

Hulk or Thing vs Colossus: Colossus over the Thing and Hulk over Colossus.

Rogue vs Ms Marvel: Depends on what powers Rogue can gets her hands on. She has betten Carol before and Is likely to prevail again. No slight against Ms Marvel (Captain Marvel).

Magneto vs Iron Man: When Magneto was the one of the main threats in the marvel universe no one hero could defeat him, and I know he has been depowered a bit but I still do not think Irom Man can beat Magneto. I think the outcome in AvX was more popularity than reality. I think Magneto would beat Iron Man.

Psylocke vs Black Widow: They have similar abilities I think Psylockes Powers would allow her to overcome Black Widow.

Beast vs Luke Cage: While I think this would be close I think Cage would win.

Gambit vs Spider Woman: I think Spider Woman would win despite how much I like Gambit.

Both Cyke and Wolverine could take Cap, save for at close range with Cyke.

Tony still has iron is his blood like everyone else, right? He's done this before.

Are we sure Hulk doesn't have any kind of telepathic resistance? If he didn't I'd think World War Hulk would have been much quicker.

@stambo42: Well dang, I wasn't even thinking about the reactor in his chest. Good call. I'm not all that familiar with the WWH story line. So it's possible that Emma can't manipulate the Hulk, if she can't that your diamond skin would only last a few shots from the hulk. It's a tough call though.

I mean, I'm pretty sure he hasn't had the thing in his chest for a while, but he does have the extremis armor that stores in his bones, I don't know if that would make him more or less susceptible to Magneto's attacks. That aside, even if he was just a normal dude, Magneto has been shown to paralyze people by controlling the trace amounts of iron in their blood, perhaps most famously doing to this to everyone at Illyana's funeral in UXM 304. In theory, he could easily kill people in this way as well. Unless Stark found some way to nullify the effects of outside sources of electromagnetic energy, while not screwing up the electromagnetic functions inside the armor (like his brain and heart) he's pretty screwed. I think they wrote him as doing something just like this, which is kind of ridiculous, but even than, Magneto has plenty of ways to beat him.

Unless you're a near cosmic level being, a telepath, or you catch him unawares, it's pretty hard to beat Magneto one on one when he's being written at full power.

Wolverine could beat Cap but not Cyclops

Ignoring th actual fights and the comments and go down to actual facts the x-men would litrally not just beat but destroy the avengers in a very very very short and easy time frame. WHY!!!!! Uh yes i agree avengers have the Hulk and Thor but x-men have Proffessor X and the Phoenix if they matched up ignore the comics and the fan based what we want to see rubbish think reality if either of these teams existed it would be a walk for the x-men as ironman with his fancy tech no defense against psychics powerful enough to not just lift virtually anything with their mind but destroy entire planets and kill everyone by thinking more of the x-men are flight capible apart from thor and ironman the higher ground always wins jean could simple take out hawk eye black widow ironman and captain america single handed how the hell are they going to get anywhere near her she could control thier minds and make them all fight themselves the x-men could stand back and watch the avengers take each other out with xavior and jean controlling them all magneto would turn ironman into a baked bean can within a click of a finger and if jeans as powerful as she was in the movie the alien army that avengers lenghly process took she would simply look in their direction and turn them into dust in her sleep for christ sakes people be real if you going by sheer power and immortality the only avenger with any actually chance of survival would be thor phoenix could just calmly dump Hulk into the centre of the sun and blink the rest into dust on her own. Then Thor's going to be fending off wolverine who is basically indestructable Jean Cyclops, Xzavior, Emma frost, Storm, Nightcrawler, Beast, Maggot, Spike, The entire brotherhood Magneto, Jugganaut, Banshee, Sebastian Shaw and tbh the avengers are around 6 to 8 the x-men have had like 1 hundred diffirent members and thor would probably back off sharpish due to the overwealming forces sending in mutiple constant attacts the x-men are far more destructive than the avengers they beat Apocalypse many of times Mr Sinister and hundreds more and even defeated enemies of teams far more deadly than the avengers so X-men would win easily i don't see any avengers resistant to psychic attacks Thor would basically be single handed as Jean would kill the rest with Psychic attacks sorry it's just facts

Gambit vs Spider Woman - Gambit, no nid to explain

I am a huge huge fan of Marvel and the sad reality is NO ONE WOULD WIN because they don't exist in reality even i could beat the entire marvel and dc universe by myself in my bloody sleep why!!!!! I EXIST THEY DON'T turn off the DVD player the play station 3 etc and they are totally powerless against the one who holds the power cable hahahaha looool But i will answer the question i mean why on earth is it even bloody up there WHO DO YOU THINK WOULD WIN FOR CHRIST SAKE OBVIOUSLY IF IT'S A WINNER STAYS ON MATCH hmmmmmmm tricky obviously THOR!!!!!!

Without the PF, quite unlikely. Hulk is like an invulnerability walking machine, and he, IIRC, has a high resistance to TP. Even Red Hulk, when he tried to kill Scott and was caught by Emma, seemed to resist quite well her mental attacks, even with the Phoenix Force backing her up.

It seemed like PIS of course, but I guess they downplayed her TP so others would actually have a chance to fight back instead of just falling to their knees without actually being touched.

These battles have already been fought in AvX or in previous issues. Either way, given all the characters current abilities this is my poll.

Cyclops wins over Cap. Cyke just has too much firepower.

Wolverine wins over Cap. Wolverine is just too tough a fighter for Cap to handle.

Thor wins over Stom hands down. With Mjolnir, he is just too powerful, strong &fast for Storm.

ICEMAN wins over Spider-Man. Iceman destroys Spidey by freezing the water in his body.

HULK wins over Emma because her telepath powers are broken right now. Her Diamond form still works so she is able to withstand some or most of Hulks blows, he get bored and leaves, more of a draw than a victory really.

Hulk destroys THING and Collosus, even at the same time. hULK is just too much.

Rogue and Ms Marvel have fought so many times, I think they see each other and just put their heads down and walk away. Not worth fighting again. Ends in a draw.

Iron Man beat Magneto during A vs X when Magneto was full power. Now that Mags is broken, he is no longer a serious threat to Tony. Iron Man wins hands down right now because of Magneto not being at even 50% of his power and his history of being beaten by tony in AvsX when Eric was 100% or better.

Psylocke DESTROYS Black Widow. She's a ninja telepath! Widow is outmatched in everway. She is lobatomized by Betsy and has to be hand fed for the rest of her life like a baby after she is destroyed by Psylocke so hard.

Beast eventually wins over Luke. His impenetrable skin and strength are a tough nut to crack, but Beast uses his far superior intellect to his advantage and pulls out a win after a long battle.

Gambit destroys Spider Woman in the fight, then takes her out for a nice candlelit dinner and never calls her again.

I have had this row a billion times lol. I know some love the Avengers more (me personally from my childhood always been the X-Men) In a realistic scenario the X-Men would lay the Avengers out but a lot an awful lot of X-Men would either die or jsut be totally overwhelmed but Storm, Magneto, Iceman who's exceptionally hard to near impossible to completely kill, and the likes someone as powerful mentally as Psyclock helps them to some degree too.

I'll be brutally honest I actually think morals off bloodlust (full potential) Magneto could single handedly take this entire rooster out he is able to well basically do nearly what he wants with the electromagnetic spectrum, he could break down even the likes of Superman from DC regardless of Supermans powers and feats and I see Storm doing some pretty decent damage (could she best Thor) physically and literally no. Could she use other methods like removing the entire Oxygen supply, tampering with the electromagnetic spectrum or and dropping the temperature to -200 yes. I think the Thor VS Storm showdown really depends on how far Thors willing to go- If he is going all out Storms losing here but there's ways even she can drop him. It's a hard fight in terms of what powers outclass what. Any tema with cosmic, telepathic, telekinetic or magical beings do have a huge egde if they can land the right blows aka Psyclocke could become a serious issue if she builds momentum as none of the mentioned Avengers really have a defense to mind control (ok the Hulk does) but Psylockes not a low tier telepath she could cause a bit of a mess here.

In honest opinion.

Cyclops wouldn't need Wolverine he could solo Captain America because I can't see him getting anywhere near him maybe deflecting a few optic blasts until Cyclops went fine no visor then it's game over considering his eyes are portals from the and to the Sun etc and his optic blasts are even capible of hurting Apocalypse and Mr. Sinister.

Storm Vs Thor like I said it really does depend how they decide to fight but msotly on Thors side. if he holds back then Storm.

Iceman would destroy Spiderman no questions asked.

Emma Frost has the edge and not because of her Telepahty or Telekinesis but how damn powerful she is with it she's bested people on the level of Jean and Charles and even Betsy and others far stronger the Hulks telepathic immunity only goes so far but if he lands a hit then she's gone.

The Hulk would suprisingly not take down Colossus as easily as people think and yes he can even beat the Hulk too. With help of the Thing I actually see Hulk losing this fight after a long horribly painful body shattering all out massicre.

As stated before Magneto woulnd't have to think to F Ironman up. Non metla Ironsuit or not makes no difference (Magneto can do more than just control/manipulate metals) he'd turn him inside out instantly. The only way I see him losing would be if Tony created a device that can penetrate his near impossible to penetrate electromagnetic shields or supress even remove the X-Gene which I doubt.

Black Widow is dead.

Beast is dead.

There are ways Gambit can win if he has his regeneration and ability to charge things kinetically just by looking at them, even still he's an excpetionally hand to hand combatitant with insane reflexes his only major downward issue here is he cannot fly. None the less I think she's got him here sadly.

Conclusion I still think Magneto in a realistic scenario would jsut disintigrate the Avengers and that's the end of the fight. Thor would be a serious issue for him Hulk not so much Gamma radiation is on the electromagnetic spectrum but cannot be bothered to get into that petty one again.

If this was different and the X-Men threw thier entire rooster at the Avengers and I mean every last one of them well.
