I'm interested to know who you think are the toughest X-Men characters. I have listed the top 12 males and top 12 females. If these X-Men characters were fighting for their lifes and I mean to the death. Who would be the toughest to fight in battle and if they were fighting each other who would survive the longest. I've only included the X-Men, no villains except Bishop.

What do you think and who do you think are the toughest X-Man characters?

If this is a rating of how powerful they are, then yes, you're correct. I it's a rating of how tough they are, then the men's top 3 would be Logan, Eric, and Xavier, and the woman's top three would be Jean, Rogue and Psylocke.

@Nightcrawler23: I would say Eric ranks higher than Logan, I mean, in Fatal Attractions, he almost killed Logan, and if he pushed him a bit more, he probably wouldve killed him (but you know Marvcel won't let that happen).

Oh and Xavier ranking higher than Eric, since Xavier DID mindwipe him after Fatal Attractions, and Xavier became Onslaught, who whooped the Marvel Universe's ass and brought horrible 'Lets All Sacrifice Ourselves' concept to all the heroes. I can easily say Xavier is stronger because he caused the whole Marvel U to reboot itself in Heroes Reborn, and THAT takes power.

Intresting list, though I would rank Kitty a little higher just because depending on how she is written she can as Wolverine put it 'go all ninja' on someone and with her powers she can literally pull someones heart out of their chest with minimal effort. 
That would require Kitty to be written with a much harder edge then we are use to but interesting to consider. Also if you are listing Cable at full power without the legacy virus holding him back then I would rate him above X-Man just because he has
much more training and experience.

This thread is like open war. If All the male characters were to fight against one another. Who would win, who would do the most damage and who would surive the longest and more importantly who is toughest. I don't just mean in terms of power, I also mean in terms of fighting hand to hand. The same rule applies, if all the X-Ladies were fighting each other.

I still think Magneto is the most power X-Men member, ripping Apocalypse part and ripping the adamantium out of Wolverine. I think he is more powerful than Charles. If he got his helmet on, I think Charles would struggle against him. I would loved to see a fight between Magneto and a fully power X-Man, that would be amazing.

You think Rogue and Psylocke are more powerful than Storm, how come?

I'm actually suprised some people haven't responding to my post on this. I mean on the battle forums and character forums, people have a lot more to say. Some people believe Cyclops is stronger than Wolverine, I don' think that and I think Deadpool, Wolverine and Archangel could beat him individual, cause of there healing factors.

I also I think Colossus could take him out, if Colossus was closer to Cyclops.

I'm surprised that not many people have any opinions on me saying Psylocke more powerful than Emma.

I thought Onslaught was Magneto and Charles Xavier.

Its Charles' body, with all of Magneto's grief and anger and whatnots entering his body. Id like to file that under the 'Complicated 90s X-Men' section.

But yeah, Magneto would most probably top that list, I mean, he literally tore Apocalypse in two in AoA.

Seems pretty solid.

Mimic should be 5,6,or7.

If this is open war, then you are correct. For the males. The females top 3 should have been Jean, Psylocke and then Storm. Psylocke is emotionally tougher and could kill storm without even having to think about it. Storm wouldn't even be able to think a single thought before her Betsy shuts off her mind. Jean could pull this off on either of them without even trying.

I think there's really no reason for them to be separate. I don't see how it's easier.

I think if we put them all together the list would be straight forward and if they are apart, it's more fun to talk apart.

Blasphemy! She was trained by Cable and ended up being capable of channeling her power through a sword, she could explode enemies from the inside out.

Where's Mystique? I know she may not be the strongest per se but she is quite tough. She has bested and outsmarted some of the most powerful X-men and even after having been gutted in the desert by Wolverine she managed to survive on her own.

I am tossing and turning on this one TBH. Xavier are definite contenders and threats. Legion setback is that if he is not using a power that gives him higher durability, he can be hurt by one of the less powerful but more tactical and stragically skilled contenders. Legion could definitely come out on top though...no question. But he would be a definite big target from the beginning. Xavier is also a big threat but he has tough opposition with TP resistance or protection and superior physicality and skills.
