EldestRisk's X-Men Origins: Nightcrawler #1 - Nativity review

    This issue should go BAMF!!

I just picked this up. (how i wish i didn't do that)
Ok, I know that in origins stories it is normal to change a little the facts, but in this one is just ridiculous. Are we supposed to believe that Kurt finds a priest who is good to him and coincidentally has the same last name as the one that was believed to be his father (after all he was Mystique's husband), so Kurt in honor to this priest decides to adopt the last anme Wagner to find years later that his supposed father was in fact Wagner (what the...). And how they dare to change how Professor X finds him, that is like so classic it shouldn't be altered in that way. This are just the big things, we have many little things of this sorts. Really this issue made me dislike Kurt a little bit.

    The Good:
The reason i dind't give this a 1.5 or a 1 is because in spite of everything, it was well written, and the art was consistent enough to be enjoyable. Aside from this i dind't like it at all.

    The Bad:
The bad was already explained. Other thing important to note is that it seems that Kurt has no trouble at all to teleport other people a couple of times (and he just discovered he could teleport), and we all know that is something he learned to control with the x-men, the first times he tried that it almost killed him and the one he was carrying.

    Overall:
I would only recomend buying this if you are a hardcore fan of Nightcrawler and you must absolutely have everything he appears on, otherwise you are going to be dissapointed and mad like me.
And if you were looking to know Kurt's past because you are new or whatever it will be much better if you go and look at his page on the site, or look for old comics.
    Bad issue.

    BAMF!!!

Being a big fan of Nightcrawler, as soon as I saw this OneShot issue I picked it up straight away. Now I've read it and I must say it doesn't disappoint.  It shows Nightcrawler being found by a Gypsi family who end up being taken in by a sadistic carnival owner who uses Nightcrawler to make profit. It shows Kurt's relationships with his foster mother and her scrafice to save him from a life in the circus. It also shows him before he discovers his teleportation ability, and when he discovers it. ...
