This trade collects one of the most important story lines for the X-Men in the past 10-12 years. Why? Ever since Morrison's refresh of the X-Men in 2001, things have been building up to this point. We had M-Day which depowered most mutants. We had Civil War which showed that the X-Men were essentially in an internment camp post-M-Day. Overview.For me, the X-Men books are at their best when they're steeped in huge, overarching stories with big themes and big action. It's what I grew up on and it's what I get excited for when I pickup an X-book. Now, that said, I do not expect these type of stories all the time; rather, I prefer for them to be the culmination of a few years of slow-burn story. An event that actually lived up to hype. 0
Cyclops takes a team of X-Men to Cooperstown Alaska and finds the place in flames. They come across several dead bodies and realize a battle took place between Mr. Sinister's group called the Marauders, and the mutant killing organization the Purifiers. The X-Men are searching for a new born baby whom happens to be the first mutant born since M-Day; and with no idea who has the baby, the X-Men are ready to engage both sets and anyone else who could have the child. -summary.X-Men: Messiah Complex...
