X-Men: Legacy #266 Review
X-Men: Legacy #266 Review
Overview:
An AvX tie in that gets in depth about what’s going on at the school
The Good:
The story is pretty good for a tie in; it was cool seeing She-Hulk, Falcon and Moon Knight show up because they are usually overlooked in big events even though they are Avengers. This issue deals with Rouge and her past as someone who has fought the Avengers and won but she had a different outlook on life and doesn’t want to go back there, it was interesting enough.
One of the best scenes in the issue was between Frenzy and Moon Knight, I don’t know if this is like the Moon Knight of the recently canceled series but it was very cool to see them argue and fight. Another good thing is that until the end, the Avengers and X-Men are very civil and reasonable; it is nice for a change from the main series.
As always the art was good, except for the hair, it is just so… poofy.
The Bad:
While the situation at the end was understandable due to the high tensions everyone was feeling, She-Hulk’s actions and Rouge’s reaction seemed off, maybe it was just She-Hulk’s poor choice of words. The other thing was that I wish the Rogue/She-Hulk fight would have played out more instead of just having Iron Man show up.
The only other problem is a slight continuity error. On the last page of Wolverine and the X-Men certain characters leave, on the fifth page here, they leave again. It is needed in the story here and there but still, a little odd.
Verdict:
Over all a good tie-in that deals with Rogue’s view and the faculty’s views on AvX which is a nice touch to show how far-reaching the event really is. The fight seems a little forced but it is understandable and it shows that people in high stress situations can make mistakes with bad consequences.
