Average in its averageness.
Here's another issue of X-Men: First Class that attempts to tie the title squarely into mainstream Marvel (616) continuity. The story has the X-Men meeting an amnesiac Medusa who's on the run from The Wizard. That puts this issue right after the events of Fantastic Four #36.
There's not much to see here - the X-Men have a minor skirmish with Medusa at the beginning, a seven page big battle with The Wizard at the end, and by issue's end, all is right with the world.
It's better than average for this series thanks to Jeff Parker maintaining some semblance of continuity (although there are still small errors here and there), and especially thanks to Karl Kesel's art, which is a welcome return to something that looks like an X-Men appropriate style.
Sad that better than average for this series is still hopelessly average, but it's at least mostly inoffensive.
