200 is often not a number many comics ever reach these days, unless you're from DC that is. With huge buzz, and a long wait, the anxiety is over, the X-men move onto reimagined territory with ish 200.

After the events of House of M, nothing's ever been the same. Plus Rouge made an encounter with a dying alien race, and now carries their conciousness but ended up losing her own life in the process. Cable investigates an area left behind, until a Cajun in classic form comes back with a bit of razzle n' dazzle.

And to make things better.. femme fatale Mystique wraps a certain someone with her finger (and a lil more).

So all of this in a lovely nutshell makes up an excellent read. Taking notes from the classics, it pulls a few punches and takes us along for the ride. The wait for this ish has been phenomenal.

There arent enough words to describe just how much backbone this carries on its own, and another chapter of "Endangered Species" finds Beast asking support of a few faces you'd never think would possibly lend a helping hand.

X-Men #200: Living up to the hype?

I've been waiting for X-Men #200 pretty much all of this month. When I picked it up on Saturday, I was expecting some big twists, and the issue mostly delivers. As you can tell from the front cover, many former X-Men betray the team, but I was not expecting the twist at the end. I will not spoil it for you, but another X-Men betrays the team on the last page of the story, in a way that is not expected. I would have liked to see Sabertooth in the issue, but he was MIA. I also felt there were too many ads, which means less story.

As for the "Endangered Species" story, I felt it was kind of boring. The mini story did bring another little twist at the end. I was pretty surprised to see Beast ask some of his greatest foes for help.

Overall, X-Men #200 had some high expectations, and thankfully, it meets most of them. I will definitely be picking up #201 next month.

I always love seeing X-men reach -00 comics because it really shows how far the series really has went! Well I'll first start out by saying LOVE the Finch cover because it shows like all the X-men members (past and present) on it (Like Revanche, Jubilee, Thunderbird...)

Anyways this issue was MUCH better than i Thought it would be! When i read the preview of the issue I was like wtf?!? lol but after reading the issue it was pretty good! It really made me want to get the next issue! It's sad thought that this issue includes TRAITORS like MYSTIQUE! Hate her now! but ppl like Omega Sentinel and Lady Mastermind (I think) are being controlled by Malice...oh yeah and the MAURDERERS are back! One comment thought I have to point out is that yeah the covers rocked for this issue, but for some reason in my opinion the art in the book were a little too cartoonish, like the artist doesnt really give them a realistic look!

    Mystique...are you surprised?

I loved the cover. It was great and the summary of who was on the cover was great too. The story was alright. I think the biggest distractor for me even from the story was the art. I am not a fan of the art. X-Men is a big book. Why not have a better artist?

This book is full of traitors. Some you saw coming and others came out of nowhere. Will one of the XMen die? Maybe.

The really interesting part of the book was The Beast's talk with supervillains...that was rich and I enjoyed it. Overall the issue was so so.
