Filming has begun for the 2016 film X-Men Apocalypse, which is being directed by Bryan Singer. Today, Twitter user, Francesca, snapped some shots of the cast in full wardrobe and make-up. They were filming near her house, and here's a couple shots she got.

As you can see, there's Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee), Jubilee (Lana Condor), Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), and Cyclops (Tye Sheridan). Great to see Jubilee with her signature look, which really works for the film because it takes place during the 80s. Also, Nightcrawler is sporting a pretty sweet Michael Jackson jacket.

What do you fine folks think of what the characters look like?

X-Men Apocalypse will hit theaters on May 27, 2016.

Sophie! GoT fanboy in me can't stop geeking out every time I'm reminded that she's the new Jean Grey.

Her hair looks great. Never seen it styled that way, and I think it fits Jean well.

They look awesome!

I want to see Nightcrawler do the Thriller dance in that jacket.

Didn't even know Nightcrawler was gonna be in this movie until now. Everyone looks good from what I can tell though. Can't wait for this movie.

jubilee is truly outrageous!!! jean looks stunning but its just street clothes, and not even her classic green and yellow. nightcrawler looks awesome. where's storm??? wonder if they will tie her to apocalypse in africa and that is where we will meet her

Imagine this guys, Azazel is Nightcrawlers father (i mean cinematic wise not comic book wise, idk Nightcrawlers actual father. Tho if anyone knows it'd be nice if you shared.). Before he died (as mentioned in X-Men: Days of Future's Past) they could have had sex once and she was impregnated. Or maybe their relationship had been going on for a while, idk. But look at the clues, he has that sharp-ended prehensile tail just like Azazel. His mutation pertains to teleportation... just like Azazel. And then his eye and skin color resembles Raven Darkholme/ Mystique. *Nudges yah* Huh!? Huh!? Am i right!? You know I'm right. ^(^0^)^ Anyway if you have other ideas as to who the father is or if i missed any details please reply to me.

I really like the Nightcrawler design. It somewhat reminds me of his design from the X-Men Evolution cartoon series.

@shazam117: it's like how DOFP altered the pasts future. When wolverine went back in time and changed some things it altered that particular past. So it's like after DOFP and first class

I can barely make out any of the details in those images. Their quality is overall not good, and the angles are terrible. That, and street clothes never excite me anyway. Gonna have to say that I'm not really wowed, though I am pleased that Nightcrawler will be in the film.

Nightcrawler does look like the one from X-Men Evolution and that's cool. I'm already looking forward to this just on that alone.

Did anyone else know that Psylocke is going to be in this movie?

I think this is too soon, if this is Hugh's last movie as Wolverine, they could have at least kept all of the old cast, and then replace them in the next movie, not this one...

Did some of you not hear about the castings when they were first revealed? A lot of the castings are kind of old news now.....judge when you actually see the film.

We didn't click on the pictures. We just looked at what was shown in the article, which I thought would be the whole picture because I legit never use Twitter. Now that I clicked, I see him now.

Liking this version of Nightcrawler. Even though I was excited when Alan Cumming's version made it to the big screen, there were details about the look I wasn't thrilled about. Very excited about the movie!!

I don't know what people are seeing. Nightcrawler looks absolutely terrible. What a disappointment.

@irishx: I initially thought the same thing. But then I thought about it and the final product should or hopefully will look different on screen. Due to lighting and how different it will look on screen, I guessing the blue paint won't look so flat in the final product???
