Without a doubt, both Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are both stand-out actors from the X-Men movie franchise. While a new generation of actors have given their take on the roles, these two are burned into fans minds as the men who started it all. Luckily, it may not be the last time we've seen them as Magneto and Professor Charles Xavier.

During an interview with Oregon Live, Stewart revealed that McKellen will be in the 2016 film, X-Men: Apocalypse, when it starts filming in Montreal soon. He didn't flatout say McKellen will be revising his role as the Master of Magnetism, Magneto, but it's a pretty surefire bet that he'll be revising the role which may be a bit confusing, since Michael Fassbender is also supposed to be in this film as well. X-Men: Apocalypse is the 6th in the series and will be directed by Bryan Singer.

On top of that, Stewart revealed he may be in a new Wolverine film as Charles Xavier: "what I'm very excited about is that we have been talking about a Wolverine movie, which would team Hugh Jackman and myself together. Wolverine and Professor Xavier. That would be a very different sort of "X-Men" from the four movies that I've already done." This is referring to the untitled Wolverine film slated to hit theaters in 2017. It's rumored that James Mangold will be returning to direct the film. It's interesting to see that Stewart mentions Hugh Jackman. since Jackman has stated he feels too old for the workout regimen for the character and has yet to officially sign on. As of right now, the only confirmed thing about the third Wolverine movie is that is will hit theaters in 2017.

What do you think about seeing Magneto and Professor X in the X-Men films again?

I'm all for seeing these great actors back in the roles, but I would like for the First Class cast the get a movie for themselves again to close there trilogy.

I'm glad to hear they'll be returning. the actors who play the young Charles and Magneto are also good. but how many stories of their younger selves are there?

I'm kind of conflicted about this. Mckellen and Stewart have been, in my opinion, the only consistently great parts of a franchise that has had it's ups and downs so more of them is always great but unfortunately the franchise does have to move on without them eventually and dofp was such a great send off for the both of them that I'm worried whatever ends up being their last appearances as the characters won't be as fitting. Their versions of the characters were so great that they deserve to exit on a high note and dofp may be the highest note they get.

If we're getting older Magneto and young Magneto in Apocalypse then this makes me think that the X-Men in the 80's will probably only injury Apocalypse enough that he'll have to go into hibernation to regenerate then he wakes up in the future to once more confront the older X-Men. If Jackman really is thinking of calling it quits with the Wolverine role then his third film may have him and Prof. X journeying together for some reason which would leave the other X-Men to handle the reawakened Apocalypse without them.

ugh...really another Wolverine film? Apocalypse should be the last of the X-Men stuff for awhile. Im so tired of Hugh Jackman and after 7 movies and now at least 2 more on the way it surprises me people are even still interested.

Me too. Hell, I've been reading nothing but his comics for 2 weeks, but come on. 3 movies, that and the fact that's he's already forced as the focal point as the X men movie series. It's just ugh!

Hm... Wolverine and Professor X teamed together...

Wolverine learns of a clandestine attempt to recreate him orchestrated by a civilian offshoot of the old Weapon X project, and discovers they have succeeded in creating a clone, which has since escaped. Upon learning of the horrific abuse inflicted on the child, Logan calls in Xavier to help rescue him. Wolverine finally tracks the clone down (or vice-versa) only to discover the clone isn't a HE at all, but...

...X-23!
