    Nearly a century has passed since the events of UNCANNY X-MEN #378, and the dream of Charles Xavier has spread beyond the boundaries of Earth. The X-Men now encompass champions from many worlds, and have defeated many evils. But now the man who started it all is dying. When the X-Men, many of whom have been long separated, come together in a last-ditch attempt to save him, they find themselves in a final, pitched battle with Apocalypse that will truly decide not only their future, but that of all human history!
