Is it X-Man's Fault that Sentry, Loki, and Ares Died!?!?!

According to comicvine, nate went inside norman osborn's mind and released the green goblin. we know that around that time osborn lost it and decided 1) to attack Asgard and 2) To have Bullseye kill Lindy Reynolds. As a result Sentry lost it and had to be killed--but not before Ares and Loki were dead.

He didn't release him, just sort of ran into him. Norman and the GG parted ways at the end of Dark X-men.

I don't think Nate was responsible but he didn't just "run into" Green Goblin. The Goblin persona was locked in Osborne's subconcious and during the battle for his body Nate seemingly set him free in order to split Osborne's attention and willpower to keep him locked away and to show everyone the monster that truly lurked inside. It just happened that Goblin and Osborne had the same interests in mind and worked together, which Nate didn't see coming in his little plan. However the Goblin persona was breaking through long before Nate's interferance.

Nate had more to do with Onslaught being released than the Green Goblin and even then it was already there to begin with just tearing through to the surface.

hes right though. bendis's conclusion to the sentry story arc was pretty bad. he is sometimes a good writer, but the end of dark reign was unsatisfying.

Ya the plan really did backfire on him which is part of why I didn't like Dark X-Men. Although part of the reason I think it backfired was because he expected more out of the Dark X-Men, especially once they saw that the man they were working for was an evil nutjob with more than just a few screws loose.

oh yeah i agree that it was a problem having all these unstable, cosmic level supers running around in a universe that is mainly pretty weak. and i give bendis credit for cleaning it up by coming up with logical deaths or ends for them (molecule man, beyonder, etc.) im just saying the way he did it with the sentry was pretty clumsy and unsatisfying. i get he couldnt be around that long cuz hes just too powerful, but it was really lame the way they killed him off.

It was clear from the beginning of Dark Reign that the green goblin persona was going to come out, it started when Norman killed swordsman at the end of secret invasion/start of DR.
From then on the pressure of the role was building on Norman coupled with the god of mischief working to bring out the goblin persona.

It's not X-man's fault that the goblin persona came out, it was a forgone conclusion from the start of DR.

I would say though, I am glad Sentry is dead. He wasn't a very interesting character and was massively overpowered. Superman but his kryptonite was you just had to confuse him (see X-man)

Well if the writers were writing logically then yes but they aren't. It is up to the writers if it was Nate's fault and do you honestly think that the writers want it to be? i don't. I guarantee that if someone went back in time and stopped Nate from releasing the Goblin nothing would've changed in siege.

From what I understood, it was Loki who tricked Osborn into attacking Asgard, he made Norman believe that Asgard's presents on Earth challenged his authority and used his Green Goblin persona to enact this trickery.
