X-Man is the Age of Apocalypse's version of Cable. He is free from the Techno-Organic disease that plagued Cable. Edit

Created in the "AGE OF APOCALYPSE" timeline X-man is one of only a handful to survive his end. Genetically engineered from Scott Summers (Cyclops) and Jean Grey by Mr. Sinister. Nate Grey has enormous powers of telepathy and telekinesis that make him potentially the most powerful mutant on Earth. In fact the sheer magnitude of his power is more than his body can take, hence if a cure is not found it could kill him. In his reality Nate Grey viewed Forge as a father figure until he was killed by Sinister. Nate took his revenge towards the end of "AGE OF APOCALYPSE", by mortaly wounding Sinister. In a final showdown between X-Man and Holocaust, Nate drove a piece of the M'Kraan Crystal into his chest. Unexpectedly it brought them to the current timeline.

Upon entering this timeline, Nate found himself confused and disorientated. He found himself drawn to the Madelyne Pryor, the clone of Jean Grey which was thought to have perished during the Inferno. The Goblin Queen helped Nate adjust to the new enviroment of a world not ruled by Apocalypse.

Early attempts at contact from Professor X and Cable proved to meet with resistance from the young rebel mutant. Memories of Sinister's manipulations still fresh in his mind kept him from trusting anyone trying to "help" him with his powers. Nate lashed out at everyone who tried to come to his aid, thinking that everyone was trying to use him for his powers. Nate even fought Professor X on the astral plane. Despite being much younger than the Professor, he tore the man's astral form from his body giving the psionic monster called Onslaught a chance to take over his body. This set him lose onto he world. Nate, himself, ended being captured by the Earth-616 Mister Sinister because of his helping hand in freeing Onslaught. Before Sinister could do anything to Nate he was taken by Onslaught who intended to us him for his powers. Thankfully the monster was beaten by the worlds heroes, causing most of them to die for awhile until they where brought back by Franklin Richards. After this Nate was upset. So far everyone he met in this new world had used him for his powers.

When he learned of a few AoA people like himself had crossed over he went after them, mainly Dark Beast and the Sugar Man. He had a few more bad run-ins with people and began to mistrust them even more. Nate did all he could to avoided contact with anyone involved with the X-Men.

But after a while Nate began to trust the people in this new world he and bonded with a few people including the real Jean Grey and Cyclops and his alternate brother Cable. After a while he encountered the Goblin Queen again when a huge telepathic wave disabled all all active telepaths. He traveled with her for a while seeing that he was dependent on her much more that he was when he came to the new world. Then he found out that the Madelyne he was with was not even Madelyne Pryor. The person he was with was an alternate version of an evil Queen, Jean Grey that was the ruler of another dimension. She went to different worlds trying to find Nate Greys. She saw them as the ultimate Telekinetic weapon. She took Nate back to her own dimension where he escaped and found another Nate Grey that was able to hide from the Queen as a shaman. He used his powers to hide. This stunned our Nate since the other Nate was just like him, his powers where meant to drain him and kill him. But this Nate had a genetic brand that stopped his powers from killing him, a gift of the evil Queen that lured him to her. Together they tried to fight the Queen but in the end they switched traits. The other Nate was killed by the Queen and the Nate from Earth-616 got the genetic brand that stopped his powers from killing him. No longer having to hold back he lashed out and killed the evil Queen.

Nate returned to our world and became a shaman and sought to bring peace to the world man and mutant. Nate was called to save the world from an almost unbeatable threat. An alien being called Harvest who wanted the earth's energies. Nate found a way to dissolve himself along with Harvest into energy that merged with every person on the planet, just in case more of Harvest's people came to Earth. Since Nate's powers where seen as impure by the aliens, they left the Earth alone. Nate became one with everybody on Earth and he lost his own body. Nate became psychic energy and died.
