BuddaBuddaBuddaBudda!!
I don`t give out the 5 stars often, the last time I did was for...well, well, the first issue of this mini-series. Highly anticipated the second installment and once reading it, I wasn`t disappointed - X-Force: Sex & Violence is bloody OUTSTANDING!
The story, once again, moves along at a rollercoaster pace. And, it`s pretty brutal stuff - nevermind the brief hotel room bed-wrestling between Logan and Domino (although maybe that was the scene many readers have been looking out for (??)) - the blood really streaks in this issue, those adamantium claws really do look dangerous.
This is the kind of Wolverine I`ve been waiting to see, since I first saw the character as a little lad in the `70s.
In San Francisco, Domino and Logan escape the Assassin`s Guild, and Domino reveals that she has $237 million of the Guild money - no wonder then, that all excited, they hop up to a room for a bit `o rough and tumble under the duvet - Logan`s face when Domino whips off her top, is a picture, I had to grin.
The Guild leader, Bella Donna, is most displeased at the failure of Razorfist and friends at the escape of Domino. She calls their other operatives into action - Bushwacker, Clay, Black Mamba, Boomerang, Nakh and Bullet - the double page spread here is superb...
Much has been said in praise of the artwork on this series, and rightly so - good work Dell`Otto. You`ve earned a place amongst my favourite artists. I think it`s fair to say, this art style has been a massive plus in making X-Force: Sex & Violence stand out.
So, where was I? Ah yes, a pack of extremely lethal looking killers are now assigned to take out our amorous twosome. Following a bloody encounter with Bushwacker, Logan and Domino high-tail it to New Orleans... but danger awaits.
...and let`s face it folks, we just know it`s gonna by a highly entertaining bloodbath...
HOORAY!! BRING IT ON!!!
